Is the music performance for the HTA9 only asses using the auto sound field or was it done in the direct/stereo mode, or both? Thanks!
Hello superturtle116,
When we give our verdict of the bar for different types of usage (like music, movies, etc..), the same data is used for all of them. We simply make inferences based on several criteria (you can see what they are by clicking on each of them in the โVerdictโ section) to let users know if a bar would perform well for this usage. So in the case of the HT-A9, its music performance was measured on the {Standard surround} mode, with the {Sound field optimization} (Room correction) feature turned on. The {Auto Sound} preset was not used. Keep in mind the bar may perform differently on different presets. For testing, we choose the one that provides a sound profile closest to our reference (desired) frequency response. Hopefully this answers your question
Weโve just released a new video that mentions the Sony HT-A9 with Bass Module here.
