The 4 Best Cordless Vacuums For Pet Hair of 2025

Updated Mar 19, 2025 at 02:33 pm
Best Cordless Vacuums For Pet Hair

There are many reasons to love pets, but shedding isn't one of them! Pet fur has a bad habit of getting everywhere, so having a portable vacuum that allows you to cover every square inch of your home, not to mention the inside of your car, is an invaluable asset to your cleaning arsenal. Thankfully, there's no shortage of cordless vacuum cleaners on the market that do an outstanding job of dealing with hair on different surfaces.

We've tested over 100 vacuum cleaners, and below are our recommendations for the best cordless stick vacuums for pet hair. These recommendations are based not only on their pet hair cleaning performance on different surface types but also on their feature set and price. For more buying recommendations, look at our list of the best cordless vacuums, the best vacuums for pet hair, the best vacuums for long hair, and the best robot vacuums for pet hair.

  1. Best Cordless Vacuum For Pet Hair

The best cordless vacuum for pet hair we've tested is the Dyson V15 Detect. This high-end stick vacuum isn't the newest model on the market, but it still represents a compelling option thanks to its blend of performance and portability. It does a fantastic job of handling pet hair on bare floors and low- and high-pile carpets. It comes with two floorheads, one with a bristled multi-surface roller with built-in vanes to trap pet hair and the other with a soft nylon roller, as well as a laser light to help you see fine strands of hair or small debris on hard floors. There are a few other handy attachments, like a miniature turbo brush and a combo upholstery tool/soft bristle brush, which are effective for tackling pet hair on cloth couches or chairs. It also features a built-in particle sensor that you can use to keep an eye on allergen quantities inside your home.

The one major downside here is build quality; this doesn't feel like a particularly sturdily built unit, which is especially disappointing for a vacuum at this price point. Consider the Miele Duoflex HX1 if you're looking for a more solid-feeling vacuum that still offers great overall pet hair pickup performance. That said, you'll also need to put up with a smaller dustbin and weaker overall suction.

  2. Best Upper Mid-Range Cordless Vacuum For Pet Hair

If you want great performance but don't mind sacrificing a couple of features to save a bit of money, then consider the A913BM variant of the LG CordZero A9. It isn't as feature-packed as the Dyson V15 Detect, as it has no automatic suction power adjustment or built-in particle sensor; still, it's the best stick vacuum for pet hair at the upper mid-range price point that we've tested. It's just as effective in handling pet hair across different surface types as the more expensive Dyson, and it also comes with a multi-surface floorhead, which does a good job of dealing with pet hair on carpets and bare floors.

The vacuum is fully compatible with LG's Power Drive Mop attachment, a purpose-designed floorhead with a pair of rotating mop pads and a water dispersal nozzle to wet and scrub away dried-on stains, like dirt or mud, that your pet might track inside. Emptying the vacuum cleaner's dustbin can release a cloud of dust and debris, but the vacuum cleaner's HEPA filter helps trap common allergens as you clean. This model also comes with LG's unique Power Punch Nozzle, which effectively vibrates the surface you're cleaning to shake out any embedded debris so that the vacuum can suck everything up.

  3. Best Mid-Range Cordless Vacuum For Pet Hair

For those seeking to strike the balance between budget and performance, get the the Samsung Jet 60. This cordless vacuum feels a little less sturdily built than the LG CordZero A9, and its max battery life is a little shorter, topping out just south of 50 minutes. Thankfully, it still does a pretty good job of clearing away pet hair, though, unlike the LG, you might still need to make an extra pass or two to collect shorter strands on furniture. The Pet variant of the Jet 60 also comes with a miniature turbo brush that's very effective in dealing with pet hair on fabric, though it's a little bulky and unwieldy, and you'll need to hold the vacuum with two hands to manage it effectively.

The Samsung vacuum also features a five-stage filtration system that's at least partially effective in keeping fine allergens sealed inside the dustbin. Like any bagless vacuum, you'll need to be careful when emptying it out because it can release a cloud of fine dust and debris. Still, there's more than enough to love about this vacuum to make it the best stick vacuum for pet hair at a mid-range price point we've tested.

  4. Best Budget Cordless Vacuum For Pet Hair

The best cordless stick vacuum for pet hair at a budget-friendly price that we've tested is the Wyze Cordless Vacuum S. This replaces our previous budget recommendation the Wyze Cordless Vacuum, which is now discontinued. Right off the bat, the Wyze S' build quality is the least impressive of our picks, and it can't match the other vacuums on our list, so a second pass will likely be needed to get everything. Nevertheless, it does a decent job of handling pet hair on hard-to-clean surfaces like low-pile carpets, and although long hair can also get tangled around its bristled brushroll, the roll is fully removable, so you can clean it without too much effort.

Another standout feature of this vacuum is its battery life, which lasts longer than some of our more expensive picks, like the Samsung Jet 60. Unfortunately, it only comes with a crevice tool, which is too small to be practical for cleaning things like couch cushions. A turbo brush or motorized tool would help clean pet hair from furniture, but none are available for this vacuum.

Notable Mentions

  • Dyson Gen5detect/Gen5detect Absolute: The Dyson Gen5detect/Gen5detect Absolute is the manufacturer's newest flagship model, effectively replacing the Dyson V15 Detect. While it does have a few minor quality-of-life upgrades compared to its predecessor, overall performance is virtually neck and neck, and the small upgrades don't justify the substantial price premium. See our review
  • Dyson Gen5outsize/Gen5outsize Absolute: The Dyson Gen5outsize/Gen5outsize Absolute is an enlarged, pricier version of the Dyson Gen5detect/Gen5detect Absolute with similar strengths and weaknesses. It does a fantastic job of handling pet hair. Still, it's also hugely expensive compared to the Dyson V15 Detect, which offers similarly strong performance. Its bulkier form factor also makes it more of a hassle to maneuver. See our review
  • Samsung Jet 90 Complete: The Samsung Jet 90 Complete is a great alternative to the Dyson V15 Detect, thanks to its slightly more maneuverable design and compatibility with a dedicated mopping floorhead. However, it doesn't have the V15's dirt sensor or automatic power adjustment feature. See our review
  • Miele Triflex HX2 Pro/Cat & Dog: The Miele Triflex HX2 Pro/Cat & Dog is a high-end cordless stick vacuum that does an excellent job of handling pet hair and feels well-built. However, it has a smaller dustbin and a more limited set of attachments than the Dyson V15 Detect. See our review
  • Shark IZ662H:

The Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight IZ662H is a good alternative to the Samsung Jet 60 Pet and does an excellent job on pet hair. But it's harder to maintain since the brushroll is not removable, and it's a bit awkward to operate since the brushroll can't be turned off. It also has a heavier, bulkier floorhead.

Is the even-brighter G4 replacing the G3 as a notable mention?

The G4 will replace the G3 once it comes down in price. Keep in mind that the G4 is only brighter with HDR content. Its SDR brightness is essentially the same as the G3, so both TVs overcome the same amount of glare in a bright room with most content. Thanks for reaching out!

Hey there! We haven’t tested the Bravia 9 yet, so I can’t say for sure. If it’s even close to what Sony is advertising, it’ll be a fantastic TV for use in a bright room. The Samsung S95D does an amazing job at essentially eliminating reflections caused by glare due to its matte coating, but it does so at the cost of picture quality in a bright room. It’s quite divisive, and some people are happy to make the trade off so they don’t have to deal with reflections. With that said, if you’re in a room with a ton of sunlight coming in, the S95D is a great option. You can read a bit more about this and see some photos here. Thanks for reaching out and I hope that helps!
