How noticeable are the differences in HDR peak brightness on the B8 vs the C8, based on your tests? Because I noticed that on 2%, 5% and 10% windows the peak brightness numbers were drastically different between the two TVs. So how noticeable is this, especially in real world content? And what contributes to these differences?
The newer LG C2 OLED is a bit better overall than the LG CX OLED. The two TVs deliver very similar picture quality overall, but the C2 is a bit brighter in some scenes, especially in HDR, where small highlights stand out a bit better. The C2 also runs a newer version of the webOS smart platform, which is a bit faster and more feature-rich. On the other hand, the CX is a bit more versatile, as it supports composite inputs through an included adapter, which is great if you have older devices, like retro game consoles, that donโt support HDMI. Otherwise, weโve also heard reports that the newer OLEDs do a better job at burn-in prevention, but we donโt have any of our own data to confirm that at the moment. If you already have the CX, you probably donโt need to upgrade, but thatโs up to you. As for the G2 vs C2, it almost certainly wonโt be worth the extra 1000$ to most people as they offer nearly identical performance. The G2 is a bit brighter overall, especially when displaying small, bright areas in HDR, but the difference is minor. On the other hand, unlike the G2, which is designed to be wall-mounted, the C2 includes a stand, giving you a bit more versatility out of the box. But if you donโt plan on mounting it and donโt care about it being a bit bright, then I wouldnโt recommend spending the extra money on the G2!
