This is something I’ve tried to figure out for a number of years, and it’s sounding like the only solution is to just have a dedicated receiver.
Whenever I’ve tried using a soundbar with the Nintendo Switch (or the SNES Classic, for that matter), I get dropped sound effects, and even worse, dropped music and other sounds in certain games. It’s most notable in games like Super Mario World.
My understanding is that the Switch deals with LPCM audio, which TVs don’t send accurately to the soundbar. It sounds like some soundbars would allow you to plug directly INTO the soundbar to mitigate this issue, but most budget soundbars do not have HDMI input.
Would anyone be able to recommend a good soundbar solution for the Switxh? I originally was hoping for a good 5.1 setup, but at this point, I suppose I’d have to settle for a 2.1 or 3.1 setup. The whole thing has just been very difficult and kind of embarrassing to constantly struggle with.
