Not quite, bro. I still have the following plasmas and use them in various scenarios around my house:
Pioneer Kuro Elite Pro-141FD 60" which is the best plasma for movies (calibrated by D-Nice to be the blackest plasma ever) Panasonic VT60 65" which is the best plasma for 1080p gaming (lowest latency and smoothest performance) Samsung F8500 64" which is the best plasma for brighter environments and 3D Blu-ray (better than the Panasonic and Kuro)
I even still own the Sony XBR 960 Super Fine Pitch 34" CRT for classic retro gaming
None of the above holds a candle to the Sony A95L OLED for 1080p Blu-rays or even 480p DVDs upscaled. Then you watch 4K Blu-rays with HDR it’s barely the same sport anymore. The only advantages plasmas still have is their 600Hz refresh rate is still unmatched for motion, giving that CRT-like smoothness (also the Panasonic and Samsung can play 3D Blu-ray, if you care about that sort of thing). Even then the OLEDs are far better than LCD in regard to motion smoothness due to the emissive properties of the screen technology.

It’s a bit hidden at the end, but IMO it’s worth highlighting that the A95L consumes about 44% more power than the G4.
78W * 1.44 = 112.32 W 233W * 1.44 = 335.52 W
That adds to the total cost of ownership, it’s not good for the environment (neither of these are the most eco-friendly TVs you can buy, but a 44% difference means one is much worse than the other), and more electrical power in = more heat to radiate out, so I would expect the A95L to get much warmer than the G4. I’ve read that heat can affect the longevity of OLED panels, so that’s a concern, and something to watch out for in RTINGS burn-in/longevity tests.

The tv will be mostly used for gaming on Xbox series x and ps5 aswell as watching movies and tv shows. I’m not a hardcore gamer but I do play games such as call of duty etc etc. thank you

I always doing whatever I can to fight climate change, but being a noir cinema fan/CRT user forever I can’t wait to buy my first OLED. But I keep my room dimly lit. Therefore, as I will almost certainly be dialing down the Sony OLED’s brightness how much might that lower power draw and heat emissions?
