I also had issues with my screen and vertical banding. It was especially noticeable when I was watching sports, which is probably the main thing I watch on TV. Football, golf, baseball, soccer, anything with a green field and panning motions had the very noticeable banding. Everything else about this TV was great, however. The brightness. The colors. The blacks. It was all great, but it just didn’t meet my needs when it came to watching sports. I had to return it.
Hi there,
Thanks for the question!
So, both TVs actually have outstanding reflection handling so you shouldn’t have any issues using either TV in a very bright room. However, it’s worth mentioning that the reflections on the QN85A look more like the ones you’d see on a typical OLED, like the LG CX! Let me know what you think or if you have any other questions! :)
qn95t 9.4 reflection Outstanding reflection handling. It performs exactly like the Samsung Q80/Q80T QLED, and you shouldn’t have any issues using this TV in a very bright room. he Samsung QN85A has exceptional reflection handling. Strangely, the reflections look less like the ones on other LED TVs and more like those on a typical OLED, like the LG CX OLED.
Oh ! You give me an information about OLED ! I’m never looking for OLED because the reflections like a miror i see in shop.
So for you, the CX and the C9 have the same result about the reflection handling than the 85A ?

I wouldn’t say they have the same reflection handling. However, we noticed that the reflections look less like the ones on other LED TVs and more like those on a typical OLED. It’s not an exact comparison, but it’s similar :)
Okey !
I look your 80T review, and you give 9.4 about the reflexion handling, but i see it in shop, and it’s not the same than 90T. I’m surprised.
I’m looking about a good TV with super reflexion handling, and do not think about the 80T because reflexion. I’m not looking for the high end tech, juste the best reflexion handling TV.

If you’re looking for a TV that performs well in a bright room, reflection handling is important, but so is peak brightness! I made you this custom table highlighting some of the TVs we’ve tested with great reflection handling and brightness! :)
Thank you so much for your time ! I’m gonna look this :)
I understand this has a glossy screen..wife is concerned that it will reflect like a mirror when the TV is off. She doesn’t want to walk by the TV and see the reflection of the whole room which is not a problem with a semi-gloss screen. Any thoughts?

The short answer here is it depends. The long answer is that there can be many factors at play that’ll impact the experience you get. For instance, will the TV be placed opposite a window, will there be any lamps or table lights next to it, etc. Generally speaking though, it’s kind of like a really dark mirror. So, it will reflect when the TV is off, but it cuts the light down a lot and mostly looks black. It also depends on how sensitive your wife is to this stuff and what she considered to be acceptable or not. If this is something that really bothers her though, then she might prefer a semi-gloss screen because even though it technically reflects more light overall but objects may be less sharp/noticeable. On the other hand, glossy will just reflect whatever she has opposite the tv and unless you’re fixated on these objects it will be like a muted black mirror. Unfortunately, this really is a tough situation because it’s such a personal thing and can vary between users. Ultimately, it may be best to go to a store and look at some of the screen finishes and see what you both think!

Thank you for your in depth response.
Anyone know if you can remove the small reflective strip of plastic at the bottom of the screen? It doesn’t appear to be something that comes off with the rest of the normal protection out of the box. Thanks!
