This has been ongoing since the 9.4 update got pushed out. I already started a case with Roku and TCL yesterday because iโve had enough of it. At least they [TCL[ asked me to record a video outlying everything I explained to them in my post below. So hopefully they fix itโฆor take this one back and refund me so I can go with Samsung. This is my third TCL TV in 2 years that had some ridiculous issue that they โcanโtโ acknowledge is an issue.
I should not have to disable eARC just to allow my TV app to play audio at the beginning instead waiting 8+ seconds for it to finally start playing or decline to use ATMOS on my Xbox (whole bloody reason I purchased my soundbar).

I would personally recommend avoiding Samsung, as they have a habit of screwing things up via firmware updates too. Plus they have a terrible track record of not delivering on promises of product updates (like adding eARC, HDR 10+, etc) throughout the years. I have two such sets, one from 2016 and one from 2019, that have been abandoned in that regard. Plus I think you pay more than what you get in return, and quality control is lacking for such premium prices. Terrible DSE and such. Iโm definitely going Sony on my next set (or seeing if LG finally made a good LCD this year). Best of luck to you!
