Looking forward to the review. A QLED version of Samsung’s The Frame at a much lower price?

hopefully it can compete with Hisense’s U7K/U8K series or Sony’s X90K/L at least reasonably well excluding Sony’s stellar processing

hope you enjoy your purchase! i’m not aware of how it performs, so tell about your experience when you get it [if you want to]

I’d like to see it compared to the Samsung 55” Q80C QLED. I’m ready to buy the ROKU 55” Pro Series because of my familiarity with ROKU and the remote. Some reviews of the Samsung Q80C have me a little worried.

Bought a 75" from Best Buy and returned it the next week. Panel had circles of dead pixels at the top. Other than that, it was a good TV that felt like an evolution of the TCL R625 I had previously.

Unfortunately, the unit we ordered arrived damaged, so this review is delayed as we’ll have to buy another one.

Is there an estimated date for this review by chance? I know it’s been delayed due to the tv being damaged.

I’m in the market for a new 75", very curious about how this will do, just got discounted by $200 at Best Buy for memorial weekend also.

Right now, I am debating betwen an LG QNED85 ($1599.99, 7.9 Rting), Sony X90L($1499.99, 8.1 Rting), Hisense U8 ($1199.99, 8.5 Rting), and this Roku Pro Series 75" ($1499.99)

It’s hard to say as it really depends on when the new unit gets delivered. It should be in the lab this week, but you never really know with shipping. Once we have a more concrete update, we’ll make sure to share in this thread!

I had it for a week and a half before returning due to dead pixels. Great Roku TV with Dolby Vision IQ. The remote being backlit and having a speaker for locating it was a plus. I liked the adjustable legs, and the cord management on the back. I think it will perform close to the TCL Q7, which received a 7.9 Rting for mixed usage.

I’m thinking of buying the Roku Pro to replace a Google OS-based TV. Can I download apps from the Playstore if they aren’t preloaded on Roku, including a VPN like Nord? I like both those capabilities on Google OS, but I think I’d like the Roku interface better.

    Didn’t see these updated Amazon/BestBuy prices here: 55" - $800 65" - $1,000 75" - $1,500

No, you can’t sadly. Roku OS doesn’t support loading apps from the Playstore.

Got to test some USB drive content on the 65" Pro on display at Best Buy, and man the panel had TERRIBLE black smearing. By default, their vivid setting had action smoothing on high, and watching Ryan Gosling walk onto the balcony at night, there was like a purple shaded outline that trailed his head just walking, and even worse was in the settings, to turn OFF action smoothing, holding the up button down cycled through the settings quicker, you saw an outline of black smear trailing the TEXT of the settings! The panel may be rated similar to a U7N from other review sites, but to my eyes, their processing, or panels used make this a big fat dud.

Can the processing be improved via firmware updates?

We’ve seen some TV’s processing capabilities improved with firmware updates in the past, so it’s certainly possible. Unfortunately, we don’t know if that will be the case with this TV. Thanks!

Thank you for the review. Anybody who is looking at $1500 range - 75" TV will not be looking at C3, C4, Sony A80L etc which are closer to top tier in quality and price.

Roku is not for purists. I personally think that TV quality also depends on how your room is setup. I still prefer my 5 yr old Roku ($500 bought at Costco on a whim) over LG Commercial Non Smart 65" HDTV. LG has better picture quality. But I yearn the right amount of smartness, integrations and picture quality that was their in Roku

Most of streaming services including YouTube charge a lot for higher end features like 4K etc so not sure if I would really be missing out on the picture quality.

    Prices as of July 16, 2024 - July 17, 2024 (Source: Amazon) Roku Pro 75" $1300  LG C4 77" $2800 Sony A80L 77" $2695 LG C3 77" $2400

There’s no video planned at the moment, but we’ll consider it if there’s enough interest.

Is the re-test focused only on 24p Judder?

No, that’s the only thing that changed, but we also rechecked multiple performance metrics like upscaling, gradient handling, and PQ EOTF tracking.

I noticed in Digital Trends review of this TV it’s showing Dolby Vision for Gaming is supported up to 120Hz on Xbox Series. I’m assuming there was a software update that might have added it. Can you confirm this is accurate or not?

You’re right it does look like it does. We’ll recheck this but it might take us a while to get to it.

  40. Update: We updated the results and text in the Xbox Series X|S Compatibility section to reflect that the TV does support 4k @ 120Hz with Dolby Vision.
