I have this TV and use it exclusively as a PC monitor. I see absolutely no change in the picture when I switch from PC to game mode (been on game mode for about 10 minutes since seeing your question). This is just with a regular Windows desktop (provided by some older HP Elitebook laptop issued by work) and typical office productivity applications (i.e. nothing gaming related).
Iโm looking to use this as a PC monitor as well. Do you still recommend it since the 4:4:4 works?
Yes, at least for my use case. I do a ton of work with contract documents and will often have to have multiple documents up on the screen that are separately visible (no overlap) so I can easily cut/paste or visually compared language between documents. The 43" version of this TV serves that purpose for a dirt cheap price. Not being able to specify a default input is a bit of an inconvenience, but not enough to make me pack the set up and take it back.
I just picked up the 43" Qd6 at Costco for $199. While the picture is decent for general TV use, the set is going back because I tend to use it almost exclusively as a huge PC monitor for work, where I need multiple screens of text up at once and it appears that this TV doesnโt support chroma 4:4:4 subsampling. I noticed rainbow effects in black text immediately and the rting test image is a total mess when displayed in Paint. Could someone else confirm this? Maybe Iโm doing something wrong? Also, as far as I can tell, there is no way to set a default input. It always opens to the FireTV display. This is annoying when I step away for a few minutes and the set goes to sleep. I have to go through a bunch of remote clicks to get back to work. Who knows. Maybe there is a way. But itโs not in a manual. In fact, as far as I can tell, there is no manual at all for this TV (nothing in the box and nothing online). I know itโs an entry level unit, but seriously, no manual?
