Since I play a lot of games and work as a programmer, I would like to buy a monitor that will meet both of these needs. I was planning on buying an OLED, but I am skeptical and reconsidering due to the risk of burn-in (lots of static content on the screen, high daily usage, etc.). What do you suggest, should I avoid OLED or is the technology good enough to support my needs? If OLED is not suggested, what would be the closest best IPS/VA alternative? I noticed that there aren’t many high tier IPS/VA monitors tested by 2.0.1 methodology, I found the Q27G3XMN, but I wonder if there are any better rated displays. Thanks in advance!

To have access to advice from RTINGS.com experts and much moreBecome an InsiderI assume you’re referring specifically to burn-in? If that’s the case, I doubt it would cause any issues if you’ve been fine with a plasma for this long and have no retention. There are other differences that you’ll notice when jumping from a plasma to a more recent OLED, though, especially when it comes to motion handling.

Sounds good! I only owned my plasma for a few years but never had any issues on it. I think maybe we had some temporary image retention here and there, but nothing crazy. I’ve been on a budget $600 Samsung 65” for the last several years, so I’m sure anything would be an upgrade from this.
