    Hi!

I can certainly help try and narrow this down for you! This really depends on your usage and what setting you are using the TV. Do you use the TV for one thing most, or is it fairly even? My main usage needs in order are gaming, then movies, then TV, sports for example.

Next, is this going to be in a light room or a dark room and how far would you be sitting from the TV?

Let me know and then I will narrow things down :)

Thank you! So in order: movies and tv (hard to say which on 1st place) > gaming > sports. Due to small 2-year old kid, I try to limit TV, so during a day (light room) TV will be used for about 1 hour/day for some children’s stuff and during evening (dark room) for about 3-4 hours/day for movies and TV/sport.

About 2 meters from the TV, but in near future it will be about 3,5 m - I’m building a new house.

First, regarding burn-in, we conducted our own burn-in test which you can read about if you are interested. Our current stance is that if you vary your content and don’t display static areas, then you are unlikely to experience any issues.

Secondly, regarding the sizes. If you will be 3.5m away, you may want the larger NANO99 for that reason alone. However, this is a preference question and it is worth noting the NANO99 is the worst performing of the three TVs.

Lastly, between the GX and the Q80T, the LG GX is the better TV. Due to the OLED display, it can produce perfect blacks and has wide viewing angles. The Q80T does get brighter, but this is less important in your case as you are primarily using the TV in a dark room.

The biggest performance gap between the two is in Movies, where the GX is significantly better. This is largely due to the better contrast, local dimming, and black uniformity on the GX. The GX also is slightly better for Gaming largely due to the response time. The Q80T does take the edge for TV watching, but this is mostly attributed to the brightness levels.

Overall, I can’t say if the increased cost is worth it to you as that is entirely subjective. That being said, the GX is the better option, but the Q80T is still one of the best TVs we’ve tested in 2020.

Appreciate your help! Bought 65gx for 1520 USD and guarantee for 5 years for 400 USD (just in case :))
