    You can use the mouse with just one battery in the left slot without bypassing the slot for the other one. The mouse was too heavy for me with two batteries so I experimented and it turns out Logitech thought of that. I bought it a few years ago and it still works without any issues. It’s a great simple wireless mouse, and running on AA batteries means it won’t become e-waste in a few years.
