Hello RTINGS,
A few questions as i bought this tv as my first OLED. So far I am having a blast with the TV but just a few things which may improve the experience.
Any way to turn off ABL without having to turn down the peak brightness so much? Through a service menu perhaps? I dont mind if that means reducing the lifespan of the TV by a few years, But would this void warranties?
Also perhaps through a service menu, am I able to add further Game Genre Custom presets? There is only 2 custom options avaialble per input and I was hoping to have 3 if possible.

Motionflow Clearness
Like most Sony TVs, the W850C has a 'Clearness' slider that can be used to control how the motion looks, without increasing the input lag (you can use it for gaming under Game mode).
The following pictures show what it looks like for each value. We also measured the backlight pattern via our photodiode probe. You can see that increasing the 'Clearness' changes the duty cycle of the 120hz PWM flickering. Clearness 5 drops the backlight frequency to 60hz, but the pulse length is increased.
