No it doesn’t double on the C2 and rtings have removed that measure from their test bench for good reasons.
Follow blurbusters guide for optimal reduction of system lag with g-sync which is PC side induced lag. https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/14/
Hi thanks for the info - I will check it out. But I was referring to the comment section in the C2 review where it states pretty clearly that enabling VRR doubled the input lag. This didn’t happen on older models (like the C1 for instance). I believe they removed the vrr lag measurement from the test bench as one of the staff mentioned that it was redundant. There was rarely any difference in the lag whether it was on or off on most tv’s tested - but there was a big difference on the C2.. That’s why I want to know if it’s the same situation on the B2. Thanks!
That thread is a dumpster fire of miss-information from those who don’t understand system lag or VRR in general, just ignore it.
The C2 does not have double input lag in VRR, I play competitive PVP and can always feel the difference, it simply isn’t there.
No other professional review sites including those specific to PC gaming have recorded such results. https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg-oled-42c2
Yes there’s a lot of info being passed around there! I just wanted to see if the Rtings staff noticed the vrr lag anomoly on the B2 model also. Thanks!
Does anybody have info on this? I’m trying to choose between a C2 and B2 and this input lag info will really help with the decision..
Hey all,
Unfortunately, as clear2skies mentioned, we no longer measure VRR input lag, so we don’t have that data for the B2. In our experience though, it doesn’t typically vary much (if at all) and it isn’t usually a noticeable difference if it does. Normally, we’d be happy to double check this, but we’re doing a lot of testing and retesting updates so we’re not sure if/when we’d be able to investigate this. Sorry about that. We’ll keep an eye on reports from users and reassess the situation if the reports seem to be consistent!
