I’m posting here because its seems to be the most informed thread. I am having issues with my gaming setup consisting of the Q90R TV and Q80R soundbar with an Xbox One X. If I connect the xbox to (TV) HDMI 4, I get all the Smart capabilities like auto-on, as well as HDR, VRR, ALLM, and 1440p @ 120hz, BUT my audio is delayed going to the soundbar and I can’t correct it with the audio sync function of the TV or the soundbar, and I cant pass-thru Atmos sound. If I connect the xbox to the soundbar HDMI 1, I get Atmos sound and the audio is synced perfectly with the on-screen image, however I lose the auto-on function, HDR, VRR, ALLM, and the capability to display 1440p @ 120hz. Luckily I use gaming headphones which connect directly to the Xbox (Stealth 700’s) so the audio delay doesnt affect me when gaming, and I’ve been keeping the xbox connected directly to the TV HDMI 4 input to retain gaming features and maximum resolution. But whenever I want to watch a 4k DVD I have to swap the HDMI cable to the soundbar HDMI 1 input to get audio w/o a delay as well as Atmos sound - the resolution with this configuration is 4k @ 60hz, but I’m not getting HDR pass-thru from the soundbar. My TV’s input signal plus is activated for HDMI 4, and the Atmos compatibility feature is turned on as well. Also I’m using HDMI 2.1 cables. Someone please help me use my $5k setup correctly.

My reccomendation is to make sure you have the newest firmware for the TV and the Soundbar. Your set up is very similar to mine and I have had the same issues but with this latest firmwar update to my HW-Q90 Soundbar the audio delay using TV ARC has been much better. I currently have my xbox connected to HDMI 4 on my tv and then TV ARC to soundbar.

I have this TV and and use a XBOX One X and when switching between gaming mode and non-gaming mode, I have not been distracted by any color shifts.

I just got up and tested this from each seating position in my room and even on the edges of my room it was quite good.

Also consider that you will not (most likely) be playing your games from the extreme angles needed to degrade the image.

    Corrected this.

Every time I was restarting my system it was turning off my HDMI ports “input signal plus”.

I had to tweak my CEC settings. Now, I have Atmos and 4KHDR. Just no VRR. But that is OK for now.

I wish I could post the image I took of the screen here. In the Xbox one X Settings: Display & Sound: 4K TV Details page, I have, TV Resolution Your TV Supports 4K UHD Watching movies & TV Your TV Doesn’t Support All HDR10 modes. Some Content may not Display in HDR. Playing Games Your TV setup doesn’t support HDR10 for gaming. Games won’t be shown in HDR.

I have verified that the ports are set for Input Signal Plus on

Xbox One X is connected to the Soundbar HDMI 1 Soundbar is connected to the TV One Connect box HDMI 3

I am Wondering now if the reason for the downgrade of the HDR is that the signal isn’t going into TV HDMI 4 which is what the manual recommends for the most compatibility…
