Ouch, definitely not value oriented in Canada. Better to buy Sony or TCL here. Thanks man!

same problem for me, I hesitate between the Hisense Q9 (h9f) and the Samsung Q80R which seems to have a big discount for the black friday. I do not know if not having Dolby Vision is a big negative point?

No idea either. I’m looking for 65 inch only so I haven’t seen many good deals outside of TCL 6-series for this size.

I got the Q9 the other day and I’m starting to regret the purchase. Youtube lags at 4k output. Menus are laggy. Netflix would lag and skip after un-pausing. Not sure what to do.

Do it like the rest of us that have 4K TVs, get a Nvidia Shield. Every single 4K TV, even the 2500$ ones, have crappy specs. None can even go faster than 100Mbit/s without switching to WiFi. It’s way better to buy a solid reliable Android TV Box (Or Apple 5th gen TV).

There’s another Canadian-only Hisense TV with Quantum Dots – the Q8. There seems to be no US/EU alternative to it though. Unlike the H8F, the Q8 has quantum dots and fewer dimming zones: 10 or 12 only. Very close otherwise.

The 55" version was $498 CAD last week and I ordered it, along with an i1Display Pro calibrator. I’m going to compare it in more detail next week, but on first use I’d say it performs just like the 2019-H7 or 2018-H8, but with noticeably punchier colours. It has a metal silver stand and frame, which is a bit unique too.

I’m thinking of purchasing this one also but 65". What are your thoughts on the q8809 ?
