Any chance you can re-test the sound profile with the newest updates? It seems like audio when ANC and ambient sound if off has gone pretty bad.

    Hi bottleb,

Thank you for reaching out. We will look into this and update the review based on our findings. Once testing has concluded, we will update you here as well.

    Cheers, Dago

Hi guys! Is there any chance you guys could test the sound with the bluetooth 5.3 ans the ssc codec to have the 24bit/48khz quality and then see if there is any improvement compared to the sbc.

    Hi EclecticCoot

Thank you for reaching out! When it comes to the BT version and Codec, they will not have an impact on the Frequency Response. Some Codec could improve the distortion and clarity of sound in some cases. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro True Wireless, we will not be retesting the headphones as they will score the same in our testing.

    Cheers, Dagobiet

Is it possible to retest the sound quality and anc, with the firmware AWA2, I feel like something changed

  9. Update: We’ve converted this review to Test Bench 1.6, which updates how we measure latency. We’ve updated and renamed the following test groups: Wired Connection, Bluetooth Connection, and Wireless Connection (Dongle). We’ve also added new codec latency measurements and provided an audio sample of recorded latency.

    Hi Joseph547,

Thanks for letting us know! We don’t have plans at the moment, but if we find other users on our site or comments online finding significant changes to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro frequency response and ANC performance we’ll create a retest for this.

    Thanks, Matt

Hi, I have just updated them and also feel a change in the sound, its a bit les harsh, but darker in contrast, but i’m not really sure.

Would love if you guys could give it a test.

    Thanks in advance

I’ve been using these for a year or more and I’ve been very happy with the battery life. I normally use them for 2-3 hour stints and they still have 65-70% battery life remaining with ANC on. The ANC is powerful enough and the fit snug enough that I can use them at just 20-25% volume even in the back of a diesel bus with a roaring engine.

My biggest complaint about this product is that the coating on it is absolutely impossible to clean. Over the past year the case and even the earbuds themselves have accumulated an uneven brown coating that refuses to come off. The only option is to actually scrape off the top layer of material to expose a clean layer underneath.

  14. Update: We added a reference to the Best Wireless Earbuds For Android article in the Bluetooth Connection box.

Actually, the Samsung Buds 2 Pro is an excellent choice for gaming when paired with the FlooGoo FMA120 LE Audio USB dongle on a PC, PS4/5, or Nintendo Switch. It supports simultaneous 48k playback and 16k mic input with ultra-low latency of around 20ms—making it, as far as I know, the holy grail for LE audio gaming.

On the other hand, the Samsung Buds 3 Pro removed LE Audio gaming support, making it a worse option for gaming.

Hi thanks for letting us know about this cool product. Unfortunately, we don’t typically test 3rd party add-ons for our products. That said, if latency is something you’re primarily concerned about, and you’re not opposed to connecting via a dongle, we’d actually recommend the Sony INZONE Buds (if you haven’t already purchased the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro). They have the same drivers as the Sony WF-1000XM5’s but use a dedicated Bluetooth LE dongle that’s included with the product. Their latency with LC3 is roughly 30ms, and the earbuds have a version of their software available on Windows and Android for in-depth customization.

I just wanted to share that the Samsung Buds 2 Pro can be seen as a combo device (WF-1000XM5 + Inzone) since it has a hidden LE Audio gaming mode that can be activated with a dongle. This means that users who already own the Buds 2 Pro don’t need to buy an additional pair of earbuds for gaming. Additionally, the FlooGoo FMA120 also enables low-latency LE Audio gaming with the WF-1000XM5, providing an alternative for their owners.
