Hi. I recently picked up this set as the deal of the day on Amazon a few weeks back for 1099. I'm impressed with the picture quality and it definitely outperforms my entry level 4k Samsung in the living but now I'm wondering if 1080p is enough. lol Would you advise that the increase in picture quality, 4k, and HDR content make returning this TV (and losing the great deal that I got) and shelling out some extra cash to purchase a B6P or C6P worth it? My main uses for the TV would be dark room watching from around 7 feet. Mostly movies, streaming Netflix, and watching sports. Thanks! Also, I might add if I find the right price I could possibly upgrade to the 65" C6P or B6P. At the 7 foot viewing distance would u recommend the curved screen of the C6P or would it not be much different from the flat B6P?

Very interested to see feedback on this as well. This might be the one for me but not going near it if they still haven’t fixed the blur that was present on last year’s model. The fact that VRR is still nowhere to be found is also concerning. Promises of a future firmware updates mean nothing to me, especially coming from Sony.

This makes no sense to me. Most of the other reviews I’ve seen say the C1 is a bit brighter, not darker. I think we’re playing panel lottery here or something.

I’ve said multiple times and will continue to repeat: never buy a TV lacking features based on future promises. Once they have your money, they do not care.

Has this update finally come out?

    Nothing yet.

Yeah I eventually found it there. Kind of bizarre but that’s Vizio for you.

So they’re…incrementally kinda/sorta improving it? Bizarre.

I think at this point I’m just going to wait a year. There are no manufacturers out there that have every feature the new consoles have and works with everything. Even the LG has the raised gamma levels issue even if it’s otherwise good.

Sony seems to be a frontrunner for me next year if they can get their next model right…although their response to this issue doesn’t fill me with a ton of hope for future issues.

Well, this thread completely put me off buying this tv, or probably any Sony TVs based on their response to this issue. Yikes.

They need to update everywhere in this site that the 50 is also a 60 refresh rate. Everything except that section lists the 49 in being the only one with a 60 refresh panel. I bought this thing based on the 50 being a 120hz panel and now will need to go through the extreme hassle of returning it

Hey, I just got the same set today, also 50". I am on a Series X and also have the same issue with 120 not being supported according to the TV setup menu. The analysis on this site says 120 is supported (the 49-in model is the gimped one), and the picture sure looks 120 to me when watching other content. when I checked other resources it also listed this model and size as 120. Not sure what’s going on. I am plugged into HDMI4 like suggested elsewhere.
