Disappointing HDR performance

I am a bit dumbfounded with the HDR performance of this set as shown in the early access data, In some ways it’s worse than my x900e set from 4 years ago. The 2% peak brightness is especially low which in my experience could hinder some interesting sun effects or bright reflections, maybe it’s by design not to blind the user?
