It’s a small detail but I know some have expressed concerns about the filtering order in the filter being Pre-filter > Main Filter > Carbon Filter as the optimal would be Pre-filter > Carbon Filter > Main Filter

Reason being you’d want the largest particulates possible away from the main hepa filter and potentially parts of the carbon filter could make it through the filtering system with it being the last in the order

    What’re RTings thoughts on this?

Hey chivolence, were aware of this debate online, there is a case to be made for either order, one being as you mentioned in your comment. On the other hand there is a case to be made for the benefits of having the carbon filter last since its intentional purpose is to filter out VOCs and odours, and not particles which can also increase the longevity of the carbon filter this way as well, however as you mentioned it potentially can introduce carbon particles. As of now were not able to take a position on that debate, because we cannot prove the difference using our current testing method. We appreciate your question, and thank you for reaching out! cheers.

  3. Update: Following user feedback, we’ve updated the text in the ‘Filter Configuration’ section of the review to remove any mention of HEPA filtration, as the manufacturer no longer advertises its main filter as being HEPA-rated.

I’m interested in the best filtration at low speeds and rarely run at high speeds. Any chance it can be added to your test method? Filter rate at all different speeds of each purifier.

    Hi RtingsUser1666494!

That’s a really good idea that is worth exploring more. When we will revisit these products we will look at adding the filtration rate at different speeds to paint a better picture of the performance of the air purifiers.

Thanks for taking the time to write to us. Have a good day Pierre-Andre
