Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones Wireless
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones Wireless are better than the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless for most purposes. Both are higher-end headphones, but the Bose feel more comfortable fit, and they have a better noise isolation performance. However, the Sennheiser headphones last about twice as long off a single charge, so you might prefer them for long trips or if you don't want to recharge your headphones often. The Sennheiser offer greater sound customization via the app, too. Unlike the Bose, you can even save and rename EQ presets for future use.

Thanks for this feedback! We agree that it’s a missed opportunity from Bose. We’ll update the side-by-side comparison to reflect this.
Amazing review with incredible detail. I have the Bose QuietComfort Ultra and your review is consistent with my experience. Self Voice does not work either. You may also want to mention that with the Sennheiser you can save your EQ settings as presets but not with the Bose, which is a major drawback and it is incomprehensible that Bose has not implemented this basic feature. It would also be great if the EQ can be used during phone calls, not sure if that can be done on the Sennheiser.
As for mid-tier Bluetooth headphones and affordability, BOSE Quiet Comfort Ultra hits a sweet spot especially with its ANC capability. The QC Ultra’s are portable and have a convenient size carrying case, they are easy to use when properly configured and when you have comprehensive knowledge of the control features. The biggest culprit is multipoint connection and the delay time between sources or when on calls and reconnecting back to where you left off. Battery life has a simple solution, when not in use, recharge them since USB ports are available in numerous places and on other devices. Bose QC Ultra is an improvement over both its predecessor which were the new Bose QC and QC-45. It also has several advantages over the Sony WH-1000XM5. A close competitor are the Sennheiser Momentum 4 which is comfortable, decent ANC, aptX codec, long battery life, and slightly better audio quality, plus cost $80 USD less at time of release MSRP of $349 than QC Ultra’s MSRP of $429 USD. Sony XM5 release date of May 2022 MSRP $400, places it behind the 8 ball being older and still demanding a premium price during the holidays as in $300 and not like $250. The 2024 Holiday season sales is a fantastic time to get your headphones. Bose QC Ultra sale $329 just reduced on Black Friday to $299, at Bose website as My Bose VIP 1st time purchases get 10% off, or use ID.me (1st responders, teachers, college students, health care professionals, government employees, and military) to qualify for $30 off, reducing the price of QC Ultra close to $269 during the 2024 Black Friday & Holiday sales. Bose sale ends December 2, however could reappear before Christmas. Bose online Chat customer service is good, however when it comes to Price Matching you are required to provide a Snap Shot. Cost adjustment to your credit card takes 2-3 business days. Returns need to obtain a RMA. Sennheiser Momentum 4 is a terrific alternative originally $349 now on sale $229 and definitely has better audio quality than either Sony XM5 and Bose QC Ultra.
I have personally purchased 3 Sennheiser Momentum 4’s and 2 Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra to compare and evaluate if any differences occurred between them and the competitor. I did purchase Sony WH-1000XM5, only to cancel my order via Sony website. Reason, the XM5 are inferior as from all the available resources and information I have gathered they were not worth purchasing, I will be keeping 1 Sennheiser Momentum 4, and 1 Bose QC Ultra headphones. Because I really enjoy the quality and the small variation between them as Bose QC Ultra more suited as an travel companion and Momentum 4 are a pleasure at home for long term listening. The QC Ultra feels too firm and tight on the head and ears when you really just want to relax.
other alternative BT headphones which are a bit more expensive for upper-mid level tier would be Focal Bathys and B&W Px8.
