Does the Ethernet Port also work as Internet connection for the connected Laptop/PC?
This isn’t something we tested, but as long as you have the USB-B cable connected to your computer, we expect it to work. That said, if you have an Ethernet port on your laptop/computer, it’s better to connect it directly there.
And the diffrences beetween 32 inch and 28 inch of the same model? (S32BG70 vs S28BG70)
While we haven’t tested the 28-inch version of this monitor, and therefore don’t know how it performs in practice, it does appear to have a similar feature set. However, Samsung’s own site lists the brightness of the 32-inch as being 50 cd/m2 higher than the 28-inch model. Again, though, we haven’t tested this ourselves, so this is just something to keep in mind.
Hello,
Just bought this monitor to use with PS5 and also to watch media via built-in apps so I would like to know what would be the best picture settings to use with it?
I assume that turning off local dimming, vrr and hdr is a somthing to do out of the box?
Thank you in advance

We generally don’t suggest any picture settings because after all, they are a personal preference. I would suggest for you to play around with the settings until you find something you like :)
Sooo that backlight. Is that the worst IPS glow I have ever seen in the black uniformity image (ignoring local dimming because on this monitor it appears its useless)?

Interestingly, there are other monitors with worse uniformity, which you can see in this table.
Hello, is there a possibility that the input lag at 60 Hz could be lower than the shown result of 21.2 ms when VRR is turned on instead? Or that the monitor’s input lag is different/faster at 60 Hz when it is set to ‘Console Mode’, which automatically happens when connected to a Playstation 5 as mentioned in the review?
I know the review says the following:
For the lowest input lag you need to make sure you have the input label set to ‘PC’ and you’re in Game Mode. With these settings, you can only send a fixed 144Hz refresh rate with VRR disabled (…)
The reason why I’m asking still is because several other models from Samsung seem to have this brand-specific quirk where they seem to almost behave like two different monitors when the VRR setting in the monitor OSD is changed:
1) When VRR is turned on, they are a fast gaming version with the lowest input lag
2) When VRR is turned off, they (sometimes?) become a standard, fall-back version with high input lag at lower than maximum refresh rates
This is backwards from the traditional thought that the monitors always have the lowest input lag with VRR off, and that turning on VRR adds a small increase to input lag. So Samsung monitors are (in some cases?) only fast when VRR is on in the OSD.
At least, this is my experience with the older G7 C32G75T, because whenever I switch VRR between on and off in the monitor OSD, there is always a black screen following and seemingly a ‘re-initializing phase’ of the monitor, as if the monitor is performing another ‘handshake’ with the connected device. This happens both on the PC via Displayport, but also on a Playstation 5 connected via HDMI. What’s more, the monitor OSD can independently be set to VRR on and VRR off and it will work in both situations, even if the Playstation 5 shows it does not support VRR on this HDMI 2.0 monitor. Other brands haven’t shown this behavior as far as I know, and setting VRR on or off in their menu is simply a setting to accept (or ignoring) any incoming VRR signal instead of changing monitor ‘modes’.
I noticed this behavior is mentioned in different amounts of detail in prior reviews of several Samsung models here on Rtings:
the aforementioned 2020 G7 (G7 C32G75T): VRR set to on in the OSD produces a nice 9.8 ms at 60 Hz, but VRR off (in the OSD) it can either be 21.9 ms or 34.4 ms depending on refresh rate set in the monitor OS, another unique Samsung quirk.
2021 G7 G70A (G7 S28AG70): there is only one result at 60 Hz and it is a low 12.8 ms, but the text mentions:
“you have to enable VRR or make sure the refresh rate on the monitor matches the refresh rate of your PC to get the lowest input lag possible. With the monitor’s refresh rate set to 144Hz and the PC’s refresh rate at 60Hz, we measured an input lag of 26.8 ms.”
That is why I am wondering if the S32BG70 also can be set to another specific combination of VRR/refresh rate/input label settings in the monitor’s OSD that would give it a lower input lag at 60 Hz than the currently tested combination of VRR off/‘workaround’ (I wonder how this workaround was achieved) refresh rate/PC Mode. I assume that ‘Game Mode’ should always be left on for the lowest input lag, but that the other settings can have a non-trivial, sometimes even backwards impact on the input lag.
Another thing I saw in the review of the Samsung OLED G8/G85SB S34BG85, was even a dependency on the input lag by the firmware version:
Note: While the listed test results are with Firmware 1422, we did our initial testing on Firmware 1421 before updating. With 1421 the input lag was considerably worse at all framerates.
Could the newest firmware for the G70B (version 1622.6, Mar 05. 2024) have improved its input lag?
Lastly, I want to say I truly appreciate the work you guys put in into these reviews; it helps people tremendously with making an informed purchase decision.

Hey, these are great questions and thanks for the support! When we initially tested this monitor we looked into the 60Hz input lag with a few different settings, and we don’t expect using VRR would improve the input lag. You’re right that some Samsung monitors have better input lag with VRR on with a couple of settings, but we didn’t notice that here. On top of that, some monitors have increased input lag at 60Hz, which seems to be the case here.
It’s possible the firmware update could fix that, but there’s no changelog from Samsung, so we’re unsure. We’ll eventually look into it, but we have limited testing resources as we’re working on a new test bench, so we can’t make any promises as to when we can retest it. That said, stay tuned in this thread for any updates :)
whats the diffrent beetween 32 inch and 28 inch how perform diffrent from each other ?
We didn’t test the 28-inch S28BG70 so we really don’t know how it performs. While we don’t expect it to be significantly different from the 32-inch model, especially in terms of picture quality, we can’t make any promises as to how it performs.
hello can you please share the monitor settings for perfect color accuracy ???
i downloaded the icc profile now i need the actual monitor settings please help
Hey! We generally don’t recommend any settings besides the ones mentioned in the review, and you should choose the settings that you prefer the most!
im struggling with setting up my monitor color settings…..
i loaded the ICC profile
but couldnt figure out monitor settings can you please share the settings here cause i couldnt find in reviews

Sorry for the confusion but you shouldn’t download our ICC profile either as each unit requires different calibration values. Otherwise you can see the settings we used before calibration here.
im sorry but im really not getting this :((
do you have any platform through which i can share you picture of my screen ?
cause i just bought the monitor and struggling big time with setting it up
looking forward for your reply
MONITOR IM USING - SAMSUNG ODYESSY G7 LS28BG702EWXXL 4K 144HZ
Also the settings mentioned on review page i cannot find any who that

Unfortunately there isn’t too much we can do to help, but you can read about how to calibrate your monitor here, otherwise you can also reach out to Samsung’s customer service to see what they say.
I ordered Samsung Odyssey g7 LS32BG702ENXGO
And I received LS32BG702EMXUE
Both of them are same things? will give the same results, since I haven’t opened the box I will return it.?
Yes, sometimes the full model code changes amongst regions and even retailers, so this is normal and I expect those to be the same.

Update: Changed the Ergonomics score and updated the text, as the previous tilt range and ergonomics scores were incorrect.
As much as I have tried, I am not able to get my PS5 to display 1440p with 120hz refresh rate when connected to my Odyssey Neo G7. I have tried multiple HDMI 2.1 compatible cables and tried all settings on my PS5 with no luck. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hey, great question. You need to try changing the input label on the monitor to Game Console, as explained in the PS5 Compatibility section. But if you’re experiencing any issues, I’d try contacting Samsung’s customer service.
Does the 28" G70B have 48 Gbps HDMI bandwidth? I know this review says that the 28" isn’t a variant but to be considered a different monitor. The G70A only had 40 Gbps bandwidth.

Hi, we only test bandwidth on monitors we’ve purchased and fully reviewed, so we don’t know what bandwidth the 28-inch G70B has.
Update: Added that the newer LG 32GR93U-B is an alternative with lower Input Lag.

Apologies for hassling you again but how do you change the input label on this monitor?
Thanks again
It’s through the input settings in the monitor’s OSD. You can see an example of Samsung’s settings here.
Update: Converted to Test Bench 2.0.1.
