The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer is a large-capacity model from Drew Barrymore's kitchenware company, Beautiful By Drew. It stands out for the look it shares with other Beautiful products, like the Beautiful 6qt Digital air fryer, including a variety of pastel color variants with gold accents. This budget-friendly model is the brand's biggest air fryer. Unlike some dual basket fryers, you can use it as a single basket fryer when you're cooking something like roast chicken and you need more space, or divide the basket and cook different foods on each side. Like other Beautiful products, it's only sold by the brand at Walmart.

Our Verdict

7.2 Air Frying

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer is a decent model. While it can overcook a good amount of your food while leaving some parts undercooked, it makes satisfactory fried food. It has a wide range of temperatures to suit different recipes and a variable fan speed, so you can use a lower fan speed for non-frying methods like dehydrating or baking.

Pros
  • Wide temperature range.
  • Very good temperature stability.
Cons
  • Cooks food slowly.
  • Somewhat slow maximum fan speed.
7.9 Large Batch Cooking

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer is very good for large-batch cooking. Even though its deep basket means it doesn't have that big of a cooking surface area relative to its overall capacity, you can still use it to cook for 6 or 7 people. It's on the slow side, but it makes decent-quality fried food. It has a wide temperature range and two different fan speeds, so it's versatile.

Pros
  • Wide temperature range.
  • Very good temperature stability.
Cons
  • Cooks food slowly.
  • Somewhat slow maximum fan speed.
7.1 Frying Performance

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer has a decent frying performance. It has a slow max fan speed and a small surface area for its overall capacity and cooks food slowly. It doesn't fry food very evenly, as it can overcook a big proportion of your food before all of it is ready. Still, it produces decent-quality fried food overall. While it maintains a stable temperature during cooking, it runs cold, meaning you may want to use a higher temperature setting to compensate if you can.

Pros
  • Very good temperature stability.
Cons
  • Cooks food slowly.
  • Somewhat slow maximum fan speed.
6.8 Cooking Speed

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer has an acceptable cooking speed. While it preheats quickly, it takes longer to cook your food than many air fryers.

Pros
  • Preheats fast.
Cons
  • Cooks food slowly.
  • Somewhat slow maximum fan speed.
8.4 Cooking Capacity

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer has a great cooking capacity. Its 9-qt basket has enough room to cook for 6 or 7 people, and you can choose to use it as a dual basket or single basket fryer. However, some air fryers with a smaller overall capacity have a similar cooking surface area. Since it's important to spread food out in a single layer for the best results, it's worth keeping that in mind if you need a lot of capacity.

Pros
  • Big capacity.
Cons
  • Deep basket.
5.7 Size

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone is a big, wide air fryer, so it'll take up a lot of space on your counter. However, it has a very big capacity.

Pros
Cons
  • Bulky design.
  • 7.2 Air Frying
  • 7.9 Large Batch Cooking

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Beautiful 9QT TriZone air fryer comes in several different colors: 'Black Sesame,' 'Oyster Grey,' 'Sage Green,' 'White Icing,' 'Cornflower Blue,' 'Lavender,' and 'Porcini.' We tested it in 'White Icing, and you can see the label for the unit we tested.

If you encounter another variant, let us know in the comments, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Air Fryers

The Beautiful 9QT Trizone air fryer is a large-capacity model that you can use as a single-basket fryer or with the basket divider installed as a dual-basket air fryer. However, despite its 9qt capacity, its cooking surface area is similar to the 7-qt Ninja Foodi DZ071, meaning you have about the same amount of space to arrange food in a single layer for optimal frying. It has a somewhat slow maximum fan speed and isn't the fastest air fryer. However, it produces decent-quality fried food, including vegetables, fries, and breaded meat like chicken wings.

You can use the divider to cook two foods separately or remove it to combine both drawers into one. However, despite its 9-qt capacity, it doesn't have a very big cooking surface area. This gives you less room to spread food out in a single layer, which is important for the best-quality fried food.

It has a wide range of temperatures that help make it suitable for a variety of recipes. The fan speed is also variable, although the max fan speed isn't that fast, which can affect cooking speed. The 'Air Fry,' 'Roast,' and 'Broil' functions use the faster fan speed. In comparison, the 'Bake' and 'Dehydrate' functions have a lower fan speed to avoid drying out baked goods or blowing dried food around the basket.

It has an optional 'reminder' function, which will remind you to shake or flip your food two-thirds of the way through cooking. By default, the air fryer will assume you're using it without the divider, but you can also program each basket to use different settings. However, compared with dual-basket air fryers that actually have separate baskets, you may notice that heat transfers from one basket to another, which could be an issue if you want to use very different settings in each basket.

  • Air Fry: Max 1 hour, 170 °F - 450 °F
  • Broil Max 30 min, 350 °F - 450 °F
  • Roast Max 1 hour, 450 °F
  • Reheat Max 1 hour, 170 °F - 400 °F
  • Bake Max 1 hour, 170 °F - 400 °F
  • Dehydrate Max 24 hours, 90 °F - 170 °F

It doesn't have a preheat function, so you'll have to turn it on for a few minutes before adding your food if you choose to preheat. The touch-sensitive display only lights up when you're using it, although some buttons light up brighter than others. It can be hard to make out the lit-up buttons if you get the 'White' variant, but they're easier to read if you get it in another color.

It makes decently-quality fried food, although a significant portion is overcooked. The Ninja Foodi DZ071 has a bigger cooking surface area and a faster max fan speed and can produce more evenly fried food.

It has very good temperature stability. Its temperature doesn't vary much as the element switches on and off, which is helpful for cooking delicate foods and following recipes. However, after you open the drawer to add food, it doesn't return to the selected temperature, remaining at a lower temperature during cooking. You might want to use a higher temperature setting to compensate, if possible.
