The BELLA Pro Series 8 qt. digital air fryer (BELLA Pro Series 90088) is a budget-friendly, large-capacity air fryer. Unlike other air fryers from the brand, like the BELLA 6qt Pro 90165, it has presets for different foods like 'Shrimp' and 'Bacon,' which are all "Air Fry" modes, instead of presets for different methods like air frying, baking, or broiling. Its round shape gives it a somewhat bulky footprint.

Our Verdict

7.2 Air Frying

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) is decent. It has a good overall frying performance, partly because its big 8qt basket gives you lots of room to arrange food in a single layer, so most of your food comes out crispy and golden brown. However, it's somewhat slow for an air fryer and doesn't offer multiple fan speeds for methods like dehydrating and baking.

Pros
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
  • Big cooking surface area.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow.
  • Not that versatile.
7.6 Large Batch Cooking

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) is good for large-batch cooking. Its 8-qt capacity is enough for about five to six people, and its basket has an impressive amount of surface area, so you can spread more food out in a single layer. It makes good-quality fried food, but it's pretty slow for an air fryer and isn't very versatile since it only has one fan speed.

Pros
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
  • Big cooking surface area.
  • 8-qt overall capacity.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow.
  • Not that versatile.
7.3 Frying Performance

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) has a decent frying performance. It has a somewhat slow maximum fan speed and doesn't cook food that fast, but its big cooking surface area helps it make good-quality fried food like chicken wings, fries, and vegetables. Some of your food will be undercooked by the time some parts are overcooked, but most of it will be crispy and golden brown. However, it doesn't maintain its temperature very well during cooking, making it difficult to accurately predict its performance and follow recipes.

Pros
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
  • Big cooking surface area.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow.
  • Doesn't maintain a stable temperature.
7.2 Cooking Speed

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) is decently fast. It needs about three minutes to preheat, which is longer than many air fryers, and it doesn't cook food very fast for an air fryer.

Pros
Cons
  • Somewhat slow.
8.0 Cooking Capacity

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) has a great cooking capacity. Its 8-qt capacity is enough for five to six people, and it has a good amount of cooking surface area, so you can spread your food in a single layer.

Pros
  • Big cooking surface area.
Cons
6.5 Size

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) is fairly big. It has a big capacity to match, but its round shape and bulky overall design mean it'll take up quite a bit of space on your counter.

Pros
Cons
  • Bulky round design.
  • 7.2 Air Frying
  • 7.6 Large Batch Cooking

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The BELLA Pro Series 8 qt. digital air fryer comes in a few different colorways: 'Stainless Steel,' 'Ink Blue,' and 'Black.' We tested it in 'Stainless Steel.' Here's the label for the unit we tested.

If you encounter another variant, let us know in the comments, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Air Fryers

The BELLA Pro Series air fryer (8qt) is a big, simple air fryer. It's not that versatile, unlike other models like the Ninja DZ201 and the Beautiful 9QT TriZone, since it has only one fan speed, which makes it less capable of methods like dehydrating and baking. You also can't divide its basket when you want to cook two different things at once. However, its basket has a great amount of surface area, which helps with even crisping, and it produces good-quality air-fried food overall.

Its 8qt capacity is big enough to cook for five to six people. However, compared with other 8qt air fryers, like the Ninja Foodi DZ201, its round basket gives you less room to arrange food in a single layer, which is how you get the best air frying results.

It's not very versatile. It has a narrow range of temperatures and only one fan speed, which makes it less useful for methods other than air frying, like baking and dehydrating. Its lowest temperature is too hot for dehydrating, as well. Instead of presets for different methods, like 'Bake' or 'Reheat,' it has modes for different foods, which are all air fry modes and have different default temperatures and cook times.

It makes good-quality fried food. However, it tends to start overcooking some parts of your food while a significant proportion isn't yet crispy enough. That said, air-fried foods like vegetables and breaded meat come out mostly crispy and golden brown.

It has adequate temperature stability. It recovers its temperature somewhat slowly as you add food. However, it doesn't maintain that stable temperature during cooking, making it more difficult to predict when your food will be ready, follow recipes, and cook delicate foods like fish.
