Inaccurate review

I just bought the tv yesterday and I can confirm you guys that this review is inaccurate. I bought it mostly for gaming with my ps5 and I’m just blown away.

First things first, sorry for my bad non native english. I’m not 100% fully bilingual but I’ll try my best.

Let’s start with the HDR. I had to compare the HDR with the sharp roku 4k tv of my friend I used couple of time this last 2 years. A tv model of 2018. I can say it’s literally day and night. The HDR of my friend tv was always bad. No matter how I play with the settings of my game, my ps5 or the setting of the tv in itself, it was always trash to the point I was asking myself if this technology was as good as people say. Yesterday after trying god of war ragnarok, Witcher 3 next gen version, Horizon Forbidden west on my x80k I was blown away. The HDR brightness is impressive simple and so much more superior. Lots of similar tv here get better reviews for the HDR brightness while they’re drastically inferior. I was a little bit shocked.

My forner tv : kdl-55w800B ( a tv very well rated here… ) doesn’t have HDR, still it has much better review regarding the gaming. I made test with my x80k side by side all day. I changed the settings of my 800b to gives her the best advantage possible. While the black are slightly better, every single other aspects of it are drastically inferior. The x80k beat it in every way. The brightness of the 800b is trash. I played with the settings but nothing to do to match the brightness of the x80k HDR. For almost 8 years I played all my games with trash brightness I had the feeling my eyes were working very hard everytime cuz of how low the brightness was mo matter what I was doing with the settings. I spent countless hours over the years trying to get better vivid clarity. Colors weren’t vivid. When I opened my x80k I almost felt I was a blind fella discovering sight for the first time…The x80k has so much more vivid colors overall brightness everything is much more clear and the colors are better. Blue is more blue same thing for red or green etc The contrast between colors is a lot superior.

The 800b was a very very solid tv for it’s time but compared to the x80k its simply trash. Yet the 800b has a much better score here than the x80k. So that’s why I take time to tell you guys to not believe everything on here. Sure the HDR of the x80k isn’t as good as oled or qled tv or other superior tv’s but sayin it’d sub par is incredibly inaccurate.

I want to add that the 4k resolution is impressive. The review here start by sayin its an entry level type of tv. The 65 inches is 1099$ plus taxes at best buy. Some 65 inches 4k tv cost 699$ plus taxes new. Some other 799$ plus taxes. At 1099$ you cant consider this a entry level type of tv. Those other tv’s are way bellow in terms of HDR and resolution. Those 4k tv usually looks slightly above 1080p… the 4k doesn’t look well at all and I can confirm that after seeing it from my own eyes. The x80k show a real clean 4k resolution.

Another thing that proves reviewers here makes mistakes is that the 120hz is useless. During the ps5 xbox serie x generation no games will be in 120 fps except some rare exceptions. Games we have in the last 2 years are all cross gen games or full next gen games that we’re developped not entirely on the next gen like demon soul per example. Making those games in 60 fps and upscaled 4k is easy. But when we arrive with 100% native next gen, lots of games will go back to 30 fps to be in native 4k it already begun with Gotham Knight. Some will stay in 60 with upscaled 4k but 120 fps with native 4k, don’t even think about it. Just need to ask to any competent video game devs who works in this department.

Tv sellers at best buy per example will tell you you need 120hz for your ps5 or xbox serie x and I laugh everytime I hear this one. People who don’t know shit about video games development are fooled unfortunately. This site here gives some tv bad reviews when they don’t support the 120hz while it shouldn’t even be taken into consideration since it’s useless for this generation. You dont need a 120hz tv to take full advantage of the new gen. The 120hz its more for the next one, ps6 and whatever the nexr xbox name.

Sure there’s some 65 inches tv at 2500$ that will have a much more superior quality.I’m not sayin the x80k is close to those. Even other tv’s that aren’t necessary 2500 but still better than this one. What I dislikes here is that some real entry level type of tv at 699 or 799 can have sometimes better reviews regarding some aspects which doesn’t makes sense after tried lots of those myself. I gave 2 examples. Its surely not the best but far from being bad as they say here regarding the contrast but especially the HDR brightness per example.

I hope this will helps some people that were discouraged by this review. I can tell you guys its a very good tv that do practically everything better than the real entry level tv. Especially for it’s price its a good value for money tv. Enjoy !
