I own the Blessing 3’s and when you set up the IEM for testing, keep in mind that the 2 Pin Connectors have small L R labels so you know which IEM goes on which Side. When I first got the IEM’s and unknowingly put the IEMs on different side, I was hearing Right Side omitted on my Left Ear and vice versa.

  3. Our testers have started testing this product; is there anything specific you’re looking to see? Let us know in this thread.

Is the difference between the Blessing 3 and the Aria worth the $250 extra?

    Hi there,

For some users, the price difference is worth it; the Blessing 3 better-built. There have been a few complaints about the build quality of the Aria like paint chipping and loose connectors. The Blessing 3 have a more balanced and flat bass range, and less treble roll-off, which ensures that vocals and instruments are bright, compared to the dull and lispy sound of the Aria. They can also block out more background noise, which is handy if you’re listening to audio in a somewhat noisy environment like an office.

    I hope that helps!

Hello, don’t be bothered by this suggestion, I think they should have in-ear monitors as a separate category.

And by the way, it wouldn’t be bad to check out cheaper options since not all of us earn enough. Thanks in advance.

  10. Update: We’ve added a comparison between these headphones and the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO in Bass Accuracy.

I’ve been using the MOONDROP Blessing 3’s for around 6 months now. Personally, I tend to prefer analytical tunings, and wow… the right song, the right recording, I’m still wowed by these every day, after all this time.

My ears seem to agree with the RTINGS in-ear Sound Profile quite well. Thanks for the review on these, and keep up the great RTING’s work!

    Hi!

“There’s a peak in the response above zero in the high-mid range. When isolated, these frequencies sound subjectively louder within our test box than when the headphones are off. We’re currently investigating this issue and will update this review when possible.”

Could you explain what is meant by this paragraph from the Noise Isolation segment, by any chance?

    Hi Juan,

Thanks for this question! This disclaimer was made in reference to the fact that, according to our graph and measurements, these IEMs actually seem to amplify external frequencies around 150Hz rather than reduce them. This is visible on the graph by the point that peaks above 0. I realize that there is a text error here that needs to be fixed from ‘high-mid’ to ‘high-bass’ so we’ll make sure to swap this out!

We’re still unsure on what caused this but we’ve seen it with our noise isolation testing for other headphones and it’s possible that it’s caused by the structure of the earbuds themselves causing certain external resonances to be trapped inside, thus affecting our results.

Oh, I see. That’s very interesting… Thank you very much for your response and explanation!

    Hi !

I’m wondering why the MOONDROP Blessing 3 is the “Best Audiophile In-Ear Monitors” while “Truthear Hexa” is having higher rating in “Neutral Sound”. Any explanation or insight would be really appreciated.

Hi ! I’m wondering why the MOONDROP Blessing 3 is the “Best Audiophile In-Ear Monitors” while “Truthear Hexa” is having higher rating in “Neutral Sound”. Any explanation or insight would be really appreciated.

Hey there! Thanks for your question. We’re in the midst of updating many of our reviews to Test Bench 1.8, which largely addresses frequency response, and most of the total scores for verdicts like Neutral Sound are calculated by the tests affected. The TRUTHEAR HEXA have been updated to Test Bench 1.8, but the MOONDROP Blessing 3 are currently still on an older test bench. However, it’s not as if the MOONDROP got worse since the TRUTHEAR HEXA were retested on TB 1.8. Offhand, I’d say, the TRUTHEAR are the way to go for a bit more bass, while the MOONDROP sound comparatively a bit tamer in the bass, closer to the Harman target.

They’re both great sets of IEMs, and our picks aren’t solely dependent on the scores for things like Neutral Sound, though those scores have definitely been a contributor. We try to take a holistic approach that considers everything. Of course, it’s possible we’ll discover through more testing that the picks need to be changed, but during this transition period, we don’t necessarily see the utility in changing the picks without the full picture, and we’re still confident in the current choice for best audiophile in-ears.

    Hope that helps!

  21. Update: We’ve converted this review to Test Bench 1.6, which updates how we measure latency. We’ve updated and renamed the following test groups: Wired Connection, Bluetooth Connection, and Wireless Connection (Dongle). We’ve also added new codec latency measurements and provided an audio sample of recorded latency.

Great review, but I want to note that the IEMs do not seem to come with any foam tips. It says in the In The Box section under Design that it comes with 6 sets of foam tips, when shown in the picture are silicone ear tips. It also says in the Comfort section that it comes with silicone tips, so it’s a little inconsistency that could use a slight update as to not confuse any readers that notice it.

    Hi there,

Thank you for pointing this out! We will fix this mistake in our review.

  24. Update: The section describing what comes In The Box has been corrected to specify that these headphones include silicone ear tips.
