I would love to see if this monitor beats the PG248QP. Which 540hz wins and in what ways are they different?
Zowie XL2586X is now available for purchase in the US from their website! The price is $999.99 currently!
I’m especially curious about the proprietary nature of the 540hz claim, as for ASUS’s application of the panel only Nvidia GPUs can access the advertised 540hz. Will Zowie be the same? Or will they be able to reach 540hz on both Nvidia & AMD alike?
We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
Its a mystery why hdmi 2.1 needs dsc to push 540hz 1080p 8 bit. Zowie refuses to answer why there isn’t a dsc switch on the monitor also.
The product has arrived in our lab, and our testers will start evaluating it soon.
We want an honest comparison with the asus in particular with umlb 2 vs dyac 2. Is it possible to use umlb 2 with an external software for amd gpu. What’s about nvidia reflex and amd low latency on the benq. What’s about view angle. What’s about cracking on the plastic bezel. Can you be honnest about the cost of this product ect..
Early access to our full test results is now available for Insiders! Become an insider to check it out here.
So we have any solution to play at 540hz with DSC off on this screen even on amd GPU ? Because when O look tests, it’s like this DSC kill the screen about latency compare to the asus, about clarity text ect.
Thanks a lot about your test, because I don’t buy the benq finally. Because not satisfied about bad performance at low hz (240hz), because except CS any game run at more than 240hz propelly. I’m scary about flicker aswell a problem I don’t have on my aorus kd25f and benq xl2746s.
Now what’s to buy I don’t really know maybe wait for 24,5" 480hz oled (even with low life screen problem but with an extension warrantly) or the Asus 540hz and find a solition to use umlb without gsync or change my gpu for an nvidia GPU

You are not going to be able to reach the max refresh rate without DSC on either monitor. I’ve also never heard of DSC making latency or text clarity worse before, and this monitor is tied with the competing Asus monitor according to RTINGS’s tests here.

With hdmi 2.1 you can do 1080p 540hz in theory that my problem.. Because 3840×2160×144 >>1920×1080×540
DSC is not good for clarity , about latency I don’t rely know it’s an hypotheses I saw on reddit to explain bad latency of the benq in front of the asus.
Why dont you test CAD with DYAC2 (backlight strobing) turned on? That’s the whole point of the feature
Why dont you test CAD with DYAC2 (backlight strobing) turned on? That’s the whole point of the feature
We don’t test CAD with backlight strobing on because not all monitors have it, and our tests are meant to easily compare monitors using the same test conditions. That said, we have the Backlight Strobing box dedicated to testing the feature, although we don’t measure CAD with it on.

you should at least add a cad score for it
What’s CAD I don’t remenber the meaning
It means Cumulative Absolute Deviation, and it represents how far away from the target colors are during a pixel transition, so it represents how much motion blur there is. You can read more about it here.
