We bought the QRevo Pro based on this review and love it! Our hardwood floors have never been so clean. I have a couple questions regarding mopping with the QRevo Pro as I’m hesitant to use the mop without understanding whether there are any potential negative long-term effects:
Can mopping with the QRevo Pro damage hardwood floors due to the water it uses? Our hardwood floor was finished on-site with a Bona finish. Bona’s website recommends not to use water, but to use their floor cleaning product instead. It’s hard to discern whether this is just so you buy their product or if mopping with water will lead to issues like cupping or buckling in the long-term. Perhaps the amount of water the Roborock vac outputs is a safe amount?
Can you use other manufacturer cleaning products in the QRevo Pro’s clean water tank? Roborock sells a cleaning product to use with their mops vacuums. And of course they say to only use their cleaning solution. Of course, our floor finish (Bona) says to only use their floor cleaning product on the floor. Are they really incompatible or is it just a cash grab by both companies? I’d love to use Bona’s floor cleaner with the Roborock vac if possible so that at least I’m cleaning the floor with the recommended product for the floor.
I’d love to start using the mop feature, but it’s difficult without these uncertainties resolved.

Hi RtingsUser9158533,
Thanks for reaching out and I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying your QRevo Pro!
For your first question, we can’t really know if the robot will damage your floors as we don’t test for that, but it’s definitely a good idea to avoid over-saturating your floors with water to avoid long term damage. That being said, if you want to take a safer approach, you can control the water flow level on this robot to minimize the amount of water it leaves on your floors.
For the second question, it’s probably best to go with what Roborock recommends to avoiding damaging the robot. While it could be a cash grab, some chemicals can harm the internal of the robot or cause build up which could block water flow. You could try putting a bit of the Bona cleaner directly on the mop pads, set the water flow to its lowest level, and make sure the cleaner doesn’t get in the robot’s system. As an extra precaution for the dock, you could also stop the robot from cleaning its mop pads with the Bona cleaner on them and wash them manually. This would be more tedious, but could be a solution for protecting your floors. Also, if the chemicals in the Bona cleaner are harsher than the Roborock’s, it may degrade the mops pads more quickly.
As a side note, I use the Roborock cleaner in my system at home, and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in terms of cleaning other than leaving a fresh smell (and maybe killing bacteria). The smell is not necessarily for everyone as it does smell strongly of tea tree oil, but if you dilute it as instructed the smell is not that intense. This is purely subjective from my own personal experience and not objective in any way, so definitely take it with a grain of salt.
Thanks again for reaching out. We really value questions from our users, as it helps us better understand your needs for future testing and reviews.
Have a great weekend!
