I look forward to seeing how these compare to the Arctis Nova 7’s as they often go on sale for about the same MSRP as these. I’m especially interested in how the microphones compare, as this headset has a new chipset allowing for a higher bandwidth microphone audio.

Interested in cup size, because many people said that it is too small and did not fit ears

    Hi there,

At the moment, it seems like it’s the only headphones compatible with the mobile companion app. “Currently, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5, 5X, and 5P are the only headset models compatible with the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Companion App.” Link

I’m very interested to see how these compare to the Arctis Nova 7, Arctis Nova PRO, Logitech G PRO X 2, Logitech G733 Lightspeed, Logitech G535 Lightspeed, Razer Blackshark V2 Pro, HyperX Cloud III, Corsair HS80 (as well as Max version), and Corsair HS65.

While the price ranges vary, I’d like to know which would be a good choice for a flexible budget.

Does the 5X chatmix affect game/chat audio balance on PS5?

    Thanks for your question, Ivo001.

Unfortunately, the game/chat balance roller will not work with PS5. To adjust the relative levels of game and chat on PS5, tap the PS button on a DualSense controller to open the Control Center, then navigate to Sound (the speaker icon), where you’ll be able to adjust the voice/chat mix to your liking.

    I hope this helps! Steve

I read that on PS5 the second wheel doesn’t even adjust sidetone. Is it possible that it’s completely useless on PS5? There’s no info on this in the review.

    Thanks for your question, suppliziante.

Yes, you’re right that sidetone is not adjusted on the headset itself. To adjust sidetone, you need to use the Arctis Nova 5 companion app, and follow the steps listed here: https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us/articles/26712363484813-What-is-sidetone-and-how-do-I-adjust-it-in-the-Arctis-Nova-5-Companion-App

    I hope that helps!

Ok, I purchased the Nova 5P and can confirm that the PS5 version does NOT have the second wheel.

I have a problem that i connot find anywhere else who might have the same problem. The audio quality is very mushy in 2.4 mode especially can be heard from high frequemcy sounds like its a low bitrate playback, it is not present in bluetooth mode though. Anyone experiencing this kind of problem or just me ?

I just started using my SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless 5X after years of using a Soundcore Life Q30 by Anker (great recommendation by rtings!)

    My initial impressions:

    • I thought the dongle was connected to the headset, but it connects to the Xbox, so it reduces the USBs on XBOX (-1)
    • The fabric ear-pieces are not as comfortable as the faux leather from Q30
    • I do miss the ANC feeling from Q30
    • Sounds better overall
    • Seems to have a way better mic
    • Way easier to switch devices

Bottom line: I lost some perks but got others that were important

    Adding:

    So… after a couple of weeks… I can safely say I hate the 5X…

    The connectivity is terrible!

It randomly disconnects and frequently will connect the audio but not the mic on Xbox. On my Mac, it will turn itself off, but it keeps showing as connected on Mac, requiring me to force turn it on and off a couple of times.

    Please don’t buy it.
