Maybe kind of a dumb question here. I remember when I bought this TV that the review mentioned potential stutter due to this TVs low response time. It’s just a bedroom TV, so maybe I haven’t been observant enough, but I’ve never noticed any issues. I keep motion processing features off, generally.

I’m considering getting a Samsung QD-OLED. As we know, OLED also suffers from stuttering. However, I’ve never used an OLED TV. Would the stuttering be at all comparable to the TCL 5 series here? I’m just trying to get an idea of what to expect. If it’s somewhat comparable, it sounds like it would be a non-issue to me. Thanks to anyone out there who may have any insight.

Hi! The OLED will definitely stutter more than your TCL. It’s noticeable if you don’t have any motion processing enabled. Personal example: I bought an LG C2 OLED last year, my first OLED. I leave the TV’s barebones motion processing from its Movie picture mode enabled, and movies look great on the TV while avoiding any of the dreaded soap opera effect. But one day I was showing off Diablo 4 to my friends, and since I was running in Game Mode all motion processing was disabled. We were watching the game’s opening movie, which run at 30 fps, and for the first time ever I noticed stutter, and I thought it was extremely noticeable. It would be even more so at 24 fps, which is what most movies run at. I wouldn’t recommend watching movies on an OLED with all motion processing off, could be an unpleasant experience.
