(Archived) Apple Airpods 2 Truly Wireless 2019 (With charging case)

The Apple AirPods 2nd Gen are very good for sports. Their one-size-fits-all design is fairly comfortable, but it isn’t the most stable for everyone. How they fit greatly depends on the size and shape of your ear. Their open-back design is suitable for people who run or work out outside and want to be aware of their surroundings but won't help those who want to block out the noise of a crowded gym. Also, unfortunately, they don’t have a great control scheme, so it's not easy to adjust your playlist or volume when you're on the move.

  1. Update: We moved the Apple Studio Display to the Notable Mentions because it’s an expensive monitor that works best with macOS. We replaced the Dell S2722QC with the Gigabyte M27U because it has better accuracy. We also added the Dell P2425H as the ‘Best Cheap Monitor.’ Lastly, we replaced the AOC Q27G3XMN with the Dell Alienware AW3225QF in the Notable Mentions.

Wondering why only 27-inch monitors… are there no 32 or higher to recommend for photo/video editing?

Hey, we take a few factors into consideration for our recommendations, including performance and availability. There aren’t as many good 32-inch monitors for editing that we’ve tested compared to 32-inch monitors. We’ve tested the Dell U3223QE, which is meant for photo editing, but it’s also expensive and has some drawbacks. That said, these are just recommendations and size is a personal preference, so you can use our Tools to find the best product for your needs! We’ll also consider mentioning a 32-inch monitor the next time we update this recommendation.

On your own ratings the highest one of these monitors is rated for editing is 7.7, so how can you rank these as the best monitors for photo editing when you have monitors that have been rated up to 9.3 for editing? When talking about the best monitors for photo editing then KVMs and USB hubs should be secondary yet you seem to put a lot of emphasis and importance on them. This website has reviewed a monitor that it has rated a 9.1 for editing that has a KVM and USB C video input that is not even mentioned on this list and there are multiple other similar monitors that also haven’t been included. So there is either something wrong with this article and the criteria used or there is something wrong with your “editing” rating you give all monitors. How is the best monitor only rated 7.7 when other monitors are rated up to 9.3?

Hey! You bring up good points, but it’s important to remember that recommendations aren’t only based off the scores. Our highest-scoring Editing monitors are all OLEDs, which definitely have remarkable picture quality, but they risk burn-in, which is a big risk for editing as there are a lot of static elements. Because of this, we don’t recommend any OLEDs, but after all, these are just recommendations, so you should choose the monitor that you feel is best for your needs.

Besides that, our Editing score incorporates elements for photo editing that aren’t as necessary, like picture quality in HDR, especially if your photos aren’t in HDR. So most of these monitors have accurate sRGB modes and display a wide range of colors in Adobe RGB. The USB-C ports and KVM switches are also useful for productivity.

FOR PHOTOGRAPHER, EDITORS, AND CREATIVES, WE DEAL WITH IMAGES BY THE HUNDREDS AT A TIME, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT STAT IS A BUCKET OF 100 RAW IMAGES lOAD TO THUMBNAIL SPEED. mOST BEAUTIFUL MONITORS ARE USELESS IF YOU ARE WAITING ON A 5 FRAME BRACKET TO LOAD OR MULTIPLE BRACKETS FOR COMPARATIVE DECISIONS LIKE WHICH IS THE BEST, COMPETITION, COLORS, PRESENTATION OF A SUBJECT. gIVE ME A MONITOR THAT CAN LOAD 4 BRACKETS OF 5 IMAGES IN 10 SECONDS AND i WILL TAKE THAT OVER THE BEST MONITOR ANYDAY. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NOBODY BENCHMARKS THIS IN THEIR MONITOR COMPARISONS. SO FOR CREATIVES, YOUR BENCHMARKS ARE NOT THAT HELPFUL sIMPLY PUT..i SPEND TO MUCH TIME WAITING ON IMAGES TO LOAD.. wHICH MONITOR WILL SPEED THAT UP AND WHAT ARE THE SACRIFICES

This is a problem with your computer performance

I know you have to limit these lists to monitors you’ve tested, and you can only test so many, and you’re mostly gamer focused, but if you want a list that is “best” monitors for photo editing you really need to test, review and include some of the high end Asus ProArt models and some of the BenQ PhotoVue monitors. Those really are considered some of the best in the industry for most people (unless you want to bump up into the EIZO ColorEdge, which are prohibitively expensive).

Hey! You’re definitely right it would be nice to have some monitors specifically designed with photo editing in mind. You can vote for them in our Review Pipeline, and if they’re popular enough, we’ll buy and test them!
