The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is a basic bagless upright vacuum. It has a crevice tool with an LED light to help you clean dark and difficult-to-reach places more efficiently. However, it struggles more to clean hair as well as debris on bare floors, and it doesn't have a long range either, making it a little bit more difficult to clean stairs. It's also somewhat difficult to maintain, and there are frequent recurring costs, depending on how often you use your vacuum. You can even use a unique Febreze-scented pre-motor vacuum filter, which the manufacturer advertises to help eliminate odors as you clean.
It's worth noting that there are multiple variants of this vacuum, which offer slightly different design features, like differing colorways or an automatic power cord retraction system. However, these differences won't result in significant differences in debris pickup performance. Further details on the differences between models are outlined in the Differences Between Variants section of the review.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is just acceptable for bare floors. While it has a brushroll cutoff to prevent it from scattering around debris, it'll take multiple passes to clear away all debris on this surface type since the drive belt for its roller blocks a portion of the width of its cleaning path. That said, this vacuum can be difficult to maintain, and there are frequent recurring costs for replacing its filters.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is alright for low-pile carpet. The drive belt for its roller blocks a portion of the brushroll, forcing you to clean the same area more than once to clear away everything. While it has an acceptable build quality, it can be difficult to maintain this vacuum to ensure it runs smoothly, and the recurring costs can add up, depending on how often you use it. However, it can maneuver quite well in most spaces.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is mediocre for high-pile carpet. It's reasonably effective at dealing with fine material that's been worked into carpet fibers but pushes around larger debris like rice and cereal pieces. The drive belt for its floorhead also blocks a portion of its brushroll, so you'll need to clean the same area more than once. However, while its hard plastic body has an otherwise acceptable build quality, it isn't easy to maintain this vacuum. Some parts, like the brushroll, are difficult to remove, and it has frequent recurring costs. However, this vacuum has good maneuverability around electrical cords, and you can even configure the vacuum to reach under tables or couches.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is an adequate option for cleaning pet hair. Aside from its brushroll blocking a portion of the width of its brushroll, it's pretty effective in dealing with hair on carpeted floors. It requires ongoing maintenance, and the recurring costs can also increase depending on your usage. It has good maneuverability, though.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus isn't well-suited for cleaning stairs. While you can configure it into a hybrid upright/handheld vacuum, it's still a bit of a pain to clean stairs. Its hose has a short reach, and if you tug or pull on it, you can tip over the vacuum body. If you don't mind taking your time, the crevice brush is a handy tool for cleaning each step.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus isn't designed for cleaning your car.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus isn't designed for workshop cleaning. It's likely to be damaged when dealing with workshop debris like wood or metal shavings. It also can't clear away liquid spills.
There are a few variants of the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo, though they differ mainly in terms of included attachments. We tested the '24613' variant.

The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo is an upright vacuum designed for tackling pet hair. Compared to other upright vacuums, like the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind, the BISSELL does a decent job picking up hair on low and high-pile carpet but struggles more on bare floors. It also doesn't come with a pet grooming brush like the Dyson Ball Animal 2, which is a little disappointing. On the upside, this vacuum has one unique Febreze-scented pre-motor filter to help keep down odors around your house. You can also purchase this filter with or without the Febreze scent separately whenever you need to replace your foam filter.
The BISSELL CleanView/CleanView Swivel Pet Rewind is a much better upright vacuum for cleaning pet hair than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The CleanView Swivel is easier to maintain and can pick up pet hair on all surface types. It also has a significantly better performance on bare floors and a slightly better performance on low-pile carpets. However, the Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus uses a HEPA filter, has a much better performance on high-pile carpets, is significantly easier to maneuver, and feels better built.
The BISSELL PowerForce Helix is a better overall upright vacuum than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The PowerForce has a larger dirt compartment, is lighter, and has better overall performance on bare floors and low-pile carpets. It's also easier to maintain, and there are fewer recurring costs. However, the Pet Hair Eraser is better built, comes with an upholstery tool as well as a turbo brush, and is more maneuverable on carpets thanks to its brushroll off switch.
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Speed is better than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The Shark incurs virtually no recurring costs, has a larger dirt compartment, and delivers superior performance on all surface types. You can also lift the pod away from its body and use it in a more portable semi-handheld configuration. Conversely, the BISSELL is a little easier to maneuver as it doesn't get caught on rug tassels or electrical cords as often as the Shark.
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe is better for more use cases than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The Shark has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, has a larger dustbin, and performs better on bare floors. Meanwhile, the BISSELL is easier to maneuver, performs better on low-pile carpets, and is a better option for pet owners since it has a removable brushroll.
The Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away is a more well-rounded vacuum than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The Shark is slightly easier to maintain with a lot fewer recurring costs, and its dirt compartment holds more, too. It also has a better performance on all surface types too. However, the BISSELL can maneuver slightly better and has a removable brushroll.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is a better upright vacuum for carpets than the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind. The BISSELL feels slightly better built, and it comes with an upholstery tool and a soft bristle brush. You can also use it in a semi-handheld configuration, which is nice if you want to reach into crevices. While the Hoover is better on bare floors, the BISSELL can pick up more debris and pet hair, especially on high-pile carpets. However, the Hoover has easier maintenance needs with less recurring costs.
The Dyson Ball Animal 2 Total Clean/Origin is a better upright vacuum than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. The Dyson has a longer range, requires less maintenance, and has almost no recurring costs. It performs better on all surface types and comes with a pet grooming tool, which is nice for pet owners.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus and BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro are for different uses. The Pet Hair Eraser is a traditional upright with a larger dirt compartment, better maneuverability, and superior performance on carpeted surfaces. You can also use it in a semi-handheld configuration to clean hard-to-reach areas. Meanwhile, the CrossWave is a hybrid vacuum mop that can easily clean stains and deal with liquid spills.
The Shark APEX Upright is a better upright vacuum for cleaning bare floors than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. If you have mostly hardwood, tile, or laminate floors in your home, the Shark can easily clean all pet hair and debris from these floors, whether large or small. It also has a slightly higher range and a larger dirt compartment, and its recurring costs are less overall. You can even turn it into a handheld vacuum, which is good for cleaning your car. If your home has mostly carpet, the BISSELL does a better job on low- and high-pile carpets. It's also slightly lighter.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus and Hoover WindTunnel Tempo Bagged have different advantages. The BISSELL has a bagless design and performs better on both low- and high-pile surfaces, where it clears material like baking soda or sand more effectively. However, the Hoover performs better on bare floors and is far easier to maintain, though with similarly high recurring costs.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has an only acceptable build quality. It's made from mostly hard plastic, except for its metal wand, but it could feel more sturdy, especially compared to some other BISSELL vacuums like the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro. This vacuum has a single-hand stick grip, which some users may prefer, and there's suction control accessible on its handle. The head of the vacuum has a headlight, while the crevice tool has an LED light near the brush so you can illuminate hard-to-reach, possibly dark areas.
Unfortunately, while the brushrolls are removable, ten screws need to be taken out to get them out. The dirt compartment and turbo brush feel like they could crack if dropped, which is disappointing. However, while there are a lot of pieces to assemble, everything fits well together, although the dirt compartment can be a little tricky to put back in place.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has many maintenance requirements. There are a lot of pieces you need to remove to access different parts of the vacuum.
Take a look at the Hoover WindTunnel Tempo Bagged if you're looking for an upright vacuum that's easier to maintain.
While this vacuum has only a couple of recurring costs, you need to replace some parts frequently, depending on your usage.
If you want an upright vacuum with almost no recurring costs, then look into the Dyson Ball Animal 2.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo is alright to store away. It has a fairly wide footprint, but luckily, you can attach the crevice tool and the upholstery/soft bristle brush directly to the vacuum. The 'Rewind' variants have an automatic cord retraction system, but you'll have to wind the cord back manually on 'Plus' models.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has a decent dirt compartment. While it isn't as large as that of the BISSELL PowerForce Helix, it's still fairly big and has a line indicating when it's full.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has a sub-par range. While its cord length is fairly long, its hose length falls short of the advertised 2.1m, especially as when you stretch the hose, it can pull and tip over the vacuum.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has alright portability. It's somewhat heavy, but it has a carrying handle, making it easier to carry to another floor.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo doesn't have a battery.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has a couple of extra features. You can turn the brushroll on and off and control the vacuum's suction by using the slider to tackle either 'Low Carpet,' which is for low-pile carpet, or 'Plush Carpet,' which is for high-pile carpet.
There are a few tools that come with the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus. There's a soft bristle brush that you can also use to clean upholstery. The crevice tool also has an LED light on the end so you can better see what you're cleaning in dark and dusty areas.
This vacuum performs poorly on hard floors. While there's a brushroll shutoff to prevent scattering around debris on hard surfaces, it's still important to note that this roller is belt-driven and that this belt obscures a portion of the width of the roller. This leaves an obvious pattern as to where the vacuum isn't picking up any debris; you can see this in greater detail here.
This vacuum's performance on high-pile carpet is unremarkable. Once again, the pattern from the drive belt is immediately apparent, so you'll need to clean the same area more than once to fully clear away any messes. It also pushes around a small amount of larger debris, like rice or cereal, from the front of its floorhead.
This vacuum does a passable job of cleaning low-pile carpet. Aside from the brushroll belt drive obscuring a portion of the cleaning head and forcing you to clean the same area again, it's actually reasonably effective at dealing with fine debris that's been worked into carpet fibers. However, it does leave behind a noticeable amount of larger debris like cereal or rice.
The suction performance is terrible. Put simply, the vacuum's floorhead is too high above the ground to generate much of a seal.
This vacuum has good airflow performance. It might lag behind high-end options like the Dyson Ball Animal 3. However, it still comfortably outperforms most cordless models on the market and won't have too much trouble lifting away heavier debris.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is a little noisy. You'll want to clean in an enclosed room to avoid annoying anyone nearby.
The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo has good maneuverability. Its rotating head is great for navigating objects, but it's still a bit tall, so it can have trouble getting into tight spaces like beneath your couch. That said, it comes with an LED crevice tool, so you can get into tight spaces and clean them. You can also use the soft-bristle brush to clean furniture using the wand, which is nice. The vacuum has no problem with tassels or electrical cords, but it can get stuck on low-pile carpet if using the 'Low Carpet' suction control.
Some fine particles can escape from this vacuum's exhaust.
