Connecting a subwoofer to the Sony A9F

With the A1 and the A8F it was possible to connect a subwoofer to the headphone jack, then select Subwoofer in the drop down headphone jack menu.In the A9F this feature is gone. I did try a optical D/A converter to RCA, but there is no volume control. Any ideas?
