Sony BRAVIA 9 QLED
Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED
The Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED and the Sony BRAVIA 9 QLED are better than each other in different ways. As impressive as the contrast and local dimming control on the BRAVIA 9 is, the BRAVIA 8 is an OLED, so it provides even deeper blacks with no blooming at all. The other main advantages of the BRAVIA 8's OLED panel are its nearly instantaneous response time and much wider viewing angle. However, the BRAVIA 9 has a big advantage when it comes to brightness: It is much brighter in SDR, so it overcomes glare in the brightest of rooms, and it's also much brighter in HDR, so it can take better advantage of HDR content that gets incredibly bright. On top of that, the BRAVIA 9 is more accurate in SDR and HDR.

Got it! Hopefully Fairphone is able to determine whether this unit is out of spec, because otherwise they just shit-the-bag with this product. Either way i hope the next gen comes out with a bang. I really wanted this buds to be good so i can finally have a decent replacement for my current buds.
Hi there,
We have an “Out of Spec” policy, which we follow to determine whether a product is defective. Since we buy our units, we let brands determine what they consider “out of spec” as they know how their product should perform.
Cheers!
Yeah, that treble response is so bad, i would like them to test it again with a different unit. Who knows, maybe it was a defective unit.
I mean I’m all for eco-friendly stuff but I wish I could’ve helped fairphone with the FR of this pair. Imagine a Galaxy Buds2 Pro like amazing frequency response, with a repairable battery form factor. Would’ve loved it.
Maybe this WAS too good to be true….

Hey there, We’re hoping it’ll be up soon. We encountered some issues with the earbuds, which initially delayed the review process. Since Test Bench 1.8 came out in the midst of this review, we decided it would be best to go back and retest the Fairbuds on the latest test bench, creating an additional delay. So, it should be ready soon, but that’s why it’s not up yet. Thanks for your patience!
Any news on when the review will be published? This has been in Early Access for more than 3 weeks at this point.
Good point! I actually removed the message completely to avoid confusion as things have changed (clearly lol) since it was posted!
