Our Verdict
TCL 6 Series 2018
LG B8 OLED
These are two different types of TVs. However, the OLED LG B8 has a significantly better overall performance than the VA panel TCL R617 in almost all aspects. The TCL R617 doesn't have the risk of burn-in, can get bright enough to fight glare, and has a slightly lower input lag, which is great for video games. On the other hand, the LG B8 delivers an outstanding dark room performance thanks to its perfect blacks, has wider viewing angles, and has a faster response time which leaves almost no blur in fast-moving content like sports. Finally, the LG B8 has better gray uniformity for mixed usage.
