Our Verdict

TCL R635

Hisense U7G

The Hisense U7G is a bit better than the TCL R635. The Hisense has a better local dimming feature, better black uniformity, and slightly better reflection handling. The TCL is a bit brighter overall in HDR, but small highlights stand out better on the Hisense. The Hisense is a bit more future-proof, with two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a bit better for next-gen gaming as it supports 4k @ 120Hz.
