This is a general statement regarding an update we’ve made to seven of our Corsair mouse reviews. This update covers the following reviews:
When we initially reviewed these mice, they each had a maximum advertised polling rate of 2000Hz. However, during our testing, we identified that instead of sending one report to your computer every 0.5 milliseconds they sent two reports at 1-millisecond intervals, which doesn’t provide the performance benefit of a true 2000Hz polling rate.
Corsair has since removed this feature from these mice, as well as most mentions of it from their product pages and advertising materials. To our knowledge, Corsair hasn’t released a public statement about this issue. But some customers who had purchased these mice have noticed and have voiced their disappointment online. [1], [2], [3]
Based on new sensor and click latency retests conducted on the Corsair M75 AIR, which remains in our inventory, we’ve confirmed that the removal of the 2000Hz polling rate has no significant impact on performance. This outcome is expected, as the 2000Hz setting never provided a measurable performance benefit. Although we no longer have all the models available for retesting, we are confident that this change does not meaningfully affect performance on any of the models mentioned.
