The Vornado EV200 is a cool-misting evaporative humidifier meant for large spaces, with an advertised coverage of 700 ft2. It has twin top-filling water tanks with a total usable capacity of 6.7 L (1.8 gal) and can run for more than 20 hours at a time. It also has a built-in humidistat and can cycle between its misting modes to maintain your desired humidity level.
The Vornado EV200 is okay for general home use. Its humidification capacity is impressive, and its built-in humidistat allows for set-it-and-forget-it operation. Just keep an eye on its water level over the course of a day, as there's no automatic off function for when its tanks run dry. It's also a chore to clean, with a fairly complex design that'll require a screwdriver to disassemble completely.
Impressive humidification capacity.
Humidistat allows for automatic misting adjustment.
Bulky footprint.
Difficult to clean.
Won't automatically shut off with empty tanks.
The Vornado EV200 is a sub-par option for use in bedrooms. It has a bulky footprint and gets pretty loud at its highest fan speed setting. Admittedly, it is much quieter at its low fan speed setting. Its 20-hour-plus max runtime will also easily last you through the night, and its built-in humidistat allows for automatic misting adjustment depending on your desired humidity level, so you won't have to fiddle with settings in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, it doesn't have an automatic shut-off for when its tank runs dry.
Quiet at low fan speed setting.
Impressive humidification capacity.
Humidistat allows for automatic misting adjustment.
Pretty noisy at high fan speed setting.
Bulky footprint.
Difficult to clean.
Won't automatically shut off with empty tanks.
The Vornado EV200 is difficult to clean. Its somewhat bulky size can make it a bit of a challenge to take apart, and quite a few component pieces need to be hand-washed. Unlike a lot of other humidifiers, you'll need a screwdriver to fully disassemble the unit; one with a magnetic head would be optimal to avoid losing any of the hard-to-reach screws.
Difficult to clean.
The Vornado EV200's capacity is impressive. It won't have too much trouble adding moisture to even fairly large spaces, like apartments, open-concept living spaces, or dorm rooms.
Impressive humidification capacity.
The Vornado EV200 is very efficient. Its moisture output is quite high relative to its power draw, though not quite to the same extent as some other Vornado models with brushless DC fan motors. Like any cool-mist unit, it's best used in warmer, drier climates, where its operation won't put any extra load on your heating system.
Operates efficiently.
The Vornado EV200 is only available in a single color variant: White. For those interested, here's the product label.

The Vornado EV200 is a mid-range evaporative humidifier. It offers impressive capacity, rapidly humidifying even large spaces like apartments or living rooms, easily outpacing comparably priced options like the Levoit Classic 300S. That said, it's a hassle to clean, with a bulky, complicated design, and its fans get quite loud at higher speeds.
This unit is a nuisance to clean. Disassembling it takes effort and a lot of counter space, as the humidifier itself is pretty large. No components are dishwasher safe, and some, such as the fan grille, are hard to reach and require a screwdriver to remove; a long and thin magnetic screwdriver would be very helpful for this process. The tanks separate from the base unit easily, so you'll need to be careful to prevent them from spilling out.
This humidifier has a built-in humidity sensor. Once you've selected your desired humidity level, the unit will automatically vary its mist and fan settings to maintain that level. Unfortunately, it won't automatically shut off once its tank is empty, so keep an eye on its water level.
It's an efficient humidifier. Its power draw is impressively low, especially considering its moisture output. That said, it isn't the peak performer in this regard, as the smaller Vornado EVDC300 uses a far more efficient brushless DC fan motor that draws a fraction of the power while offering only marginally less airflow.
This unit's overall efficiency is impressive. It's best used in hot and dry environments, where the cooling effect of its mist is most helpful. However, when you use it in a cooler, drier environment, your heating system must work a little harder to maintain a comfortable temperature.
