The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is a 50-pint dehumidifier with a space-saving collapsible design, as seen here. It also has Wi-Fi connectivity, and you can operate it while you're away from home using the MSmartHome smartphone app or from across the house thanks to its Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice command integration. It also features a built-in pump that allows it to drain into elevated containers.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is an excellent fit for use in basements. It offers sufficient capacity to draw moisture from the air, even in large open-concept basements. That said, its range of fan speeds is pretty limited, and even in its lowest speed setting, its fan airflow might be a little too high to cool its evaporator coils, which could harm performance in especially humid and cold dens. It, thankfully, has a large water tank and can be configured to drain continuously, which is great if you're running it for longer periods. It's also fitted with a drain pump and a drain hose, so you can easily drain it into an elevated container.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is a decent option for bathrooms. It has excellent dehumidification capacity and plentiful options for drainage. Not only does it have a high-capacity 16.0 L water tank, you pull it out of its bucket and hook it up to its included drain hose, a configuration that's great for saving on space. It's also fitted with a drain pump, so you can have it drain into a bathtub or sink pretty easily.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is a very good option for use in large rooms. It generates a lot of air movement, especially at its higher fan speed setting, and has amazing dehumidification capacity. Its bucket can also hold up to 16.0 L of water, so you'll seldom have to empty it, even when used in especially large and humid rooms. Unfortunately, it's quite noisy while running, so you might want to turn it off if you're trying to listen to music or watch TV.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is a mediocre option for bedrooms. Its high dehumidification capacity allows it to draw the moisture from larger rooms pretty efficiently, but there are compromises to be made. It's big when fully deployed, produces a distracting hum while running, and generates quite a bit of heat when left to run for a while, making it less than ideal for tighter or warmer bedrooms.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT has an amazingly high dehumidification capacity, sufficient to clear moisture from even large rooms.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT makes a lot of noise. You'll definitely hear it while it's running in the same room, and it can be distracting if you have it set up while you're watching TV or are having a conversation nearby.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT does a sub-par job of maintaining a stable temperature while running. It releases quite a bit of heat when left to run for extended periods, and it could render an already hot room stifling.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is only available in a 'White' colorway. You can see the label of the unit we tested here.
Let us know in the comments if you come across another variant of this dehumidifier.
The Midea MAD50PS1QWT is a 50-pint dehumidifier with Wi-Fi connectivity. Compared to other 50-pint alternatives, its collapsible design results in a considerably smaller overall footprint, both when it's not in use or whenever it's set up for continuous drainage into any sort of drain or container. It's also fitted with a drain pump, which isn't always a guarantee for units in this price range. That said, its fan speed settings don't provide a lot of flexibility in terms of airflow.
This unit has decent airflow performance. The range of airflow is pretty limited; while airflow at its highest fan speed is sufficient to generate air movement in larger open spaces, its airflow in its slowest fan speed setting might not be low enough to cool the evaporator coils, which could reduce performance in especially cool and humid rooms.
