The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is a compact dehumidifier meant for small spaces. It's all but identical in design and performance to the ProBreeze PB-02, another compact unit with a 9-ounce capacity, a 0.1 gal (0.5 L) water tank, and an automatic shutoff feature.

Our Verdict

2.5 Basement

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is awful for use in basements. Its dehumidification capacity is only sufficient for really small crawl spaces, and it'll struggle quite a bit with moisture removal in even moderately-sized dens. Its water tank is also very small, and you can't set it up to drain continuously.

Pros
  • Takes up very little room.
Cons
  • Very low dehumidification capacity.
  • Can't be set up for continuous drainage.
  • Small water tank.
  • Only efficient for very small spaces.
  • Low airflow.
5.5 Bathroom

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is inadequate for most bathrooms. While its compact size, low operating noise, and minimal heat output make it an attractive option on paper for smaller spaces, it still has its own share of major downsides. Its very low dehumidification capacity makes it likely to struggle quite a bit in especially humid bathrooms.

Pros
  • Takes up very little room.
  • Doesn't emit much heat.
  • Runs pretty quietly.
Cons
  • Very low dehumidification capacity.
  • Can't be set up for continuous drainage.
  • Small water tank.
  • Low airflow.
3.5 Large Room

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is a bad fit for large rooms, though this obviously isn't its intended usage. It generates very little in the way of airflow and has terrible dehumidification capacity, to the point where it's only really suited for tighter crawl spaces.

Pros
  • Runs pretty quietly.
Cons
  • Very low dehumidification capacity.
  • Small water tank.
  • Only efficient for very small spaces.
7.2 Bedroom

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is a satisfactory option for use in bedrooms. Its low operating noise means that it's unlikely to disturb light sleepers, and it generates very little heat, so even smaller bedrooms won't feel too stuffy when it's left to run for a while. Unfortunately, due to its low dehumidification capacity, it'll struggle in anything other than very small bedrooms.

Pros
  • Takes up very little room.
  • Doesn't emit much heat.
  • Runs pretty quietly.
Cons
  • Very low dehumidification capacity.
  • Small water tank.
0.8 Capacity

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 has terrible dehumidification capacity. It'll struggle to dehumidify even moderately large spaces, and it's best suited for very small rooms or crawl spaces.

Pros
Cons
  • Very low dehumidification capacity.
8.9 Noise

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is amazingly quiet. You can leave the unit running overnight while you're sleeping or near your entertainment center without it causing much of a disturbance.

Pros
  • Runs pretty quietly.
Cons
8.3 Temperature Stability

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 emits very little heat. It isn't likely to make even small, tight rooms feel especially stuffy, even when left running to the point where it fills its small water tank.

Pros
  • Doesn't emit much heat.
Cons
  • 2.5 Basement
  • 5.5 Bathroom
  • 3.5 Large Room
  • 7.2 Bedroom

Performance Usages

  • 0.8 Capacity
  • 8.9 Noise
  • 8.3 Temperature Stability

Compared To Other Dehumidifiers

The Eva-Dry EDV-1100 is a compact dehumidifier intended for small rooms. It's very similar in design to the ProBreeze PB-02 and delivers near-identical performance in most respects. However, it's really only meant for very small spaces and will struggle in even moderately sized rooms.

This dehumidifier has terrible airflow performance. Its single fan speed setting doesn't generate much in the way of perceptible air circulation in anything other than very small areas.
