The GE ADHL35LA is a 35-pint dehumidifier intended for use in medium-sized rooms. It has an Energy Star rating of 1.8L/kWh, a 1.1 gal (4.0 L) water tank, and, most notably, a Smart Dry function, which allows it to automatically change its fan speed setting depending on ambient humidity.
The GE ADHL35LA is a decent option for basement use. Its capacity is sufficient for medium-sized dens, but it might struggle a little bit with especially large, open-concept basements. While its water tank is somewhat small for a unit with this kind of capacity, it does thankfully offer the option of continuous drainage, so you can have it pour out any accumulated moisture into a floor drain or any other container. Unfortunately, it lacks a drain pump to pour accumulated moisture into faraway or elevated containers.
The GE ADHL35LA is a satisfactory option for bathrooms. It's reasonably compact for a 35-pint device, so it can fit into moderately sized bathrooms without too much effort. It also offers sufficient capacity for most bathrooms. If you connect it to a hose, you can drain it continuously, though there's no built-in pump to drain it into a tub or elevated sink.
The GE ADHL35LA is a decent choice for large rooms. Compared to some alternatives, it doesn't offer the highest max airflow and might struggle a little bit with circulating the air in especially open spaces, though it's fine for smaller rooms. It's impressively energy-efficient, which is good if you need to leave it running for extended periods.
The GE ADHL35LA is alright for use in bedrooms. While it isn't the smallest machine on the market, it'll certainly be easier to fit in most bedrooms than many bigger 50-pint units. Its dehumidification capacity is enough to handle moisture in all but the largest rooms. Unfortunately, it is on the noisier side, which isn't ideal for light sleepers, and it emits a fair amount of heat, which could make some smaller rooms feel a little stuffy.
The GE ADHL35LA has a decent dehumidification capacity. It's a good option for medium-sized rooms, but could struggle in especially large, open-concept spaces.
ThE GE ADHL35LA makes a fair amount of noise. If you set it to its highest fan speed, it can make things like quiet dialogue on TV difficult to hear.
The GE ADHL35LA emits a fair amount of heat. If you leave it to run for an hour or two, it won't have too much of an impact on the ambient temperature of a larger room, but smaller rooms will start to feel somewhat stuffy.
The GE ADHL35LA is only available in one colorway: 'White.' You can see the label for the model we tested here.

The GE ADHL35LA is a 35-pint dehumidifier. Compared to most of its peers, it's a pretty solid option, with good-for-its-class dehumidification capacity, a wide airflow range, and impressive overall energy efficiency. It's also a little on the noisier side and emits a fair amount of heat.
This dehumidifier has good airflow performance. Its fan speed settings produce a pretty broad spread of airflow, giving you a bit of added flexibility in choosing a setting that works best for the room you want to have it dehumidify. That said, airflow in its highest fan speed setting might not be enough to generate a lot of air movement in especially large, open-concept rooms.
