Canon PIXMA TS8220
Brother MFC-J497DW
For most uses, the Canon PIXMA TS8220 is much better than the Brother MFC-J497DW. The Canon has a better display screen, it yields more black and color pages, and it has a lower cost-per-print. The Canon also has better photo printing quality and wider connectivity options. However, the PIXMA TS8220's scanner lacks an automatic document feeder, which the Brother has.
