The eufy RoboVac G20 is a basic robot vacuum. It improves on the older eufy RoboVac G30 in a few key ways, with superior performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet, not to mention longer maximum battery life. It also feels decently well-built and uses smart-pathing to plot its cleaning routes, though it's incapable of storing a permanent map of its coverage area. You can't set up virtual boundary lines or schedule cleaning sessions for specific rooms. It also incurs very high recurring costs and does a terrible job of sealing in fine particles.
The eufy G20 is decent for bare floors. It's highly effective in dealing with bulky and small debris on this surface type, though pet hair tends to get tangled in its brushroll instead of being sucked into its dirt compartment. It also feels decently well-built and has long battery life. That said, it has a very small dustbin that needs frequent emptying. Many parts need periodic cleaning too.
The eufy G20 is a mediocre option for low-pile carpet cleaning. It struggles with clearing fine and larger debris on this surface type, while pet hair gets caught in its brushroll instead of being sucked into its dustbin. It also has a few parts that need regular cleaning. That said, its 'Boost IQ' function is effective in allowing the vacuum to automatically adjust its suction power level on carpeted floors. The vacuum itself also isn't particularly noisy and feels well built. It also does a fairly good job maneuvering itself, though you might want to remove obstructions like electrical cords before letting it run.
The eufy G20 is passable for vacuuming high-pile carpets. While it can struggle to climb onto high-pile rugs from other surfaces, it's still decent at cleaning larger debris. It isn't bad when dealing with finer material either, but it might need to make an extra pass to get everything. Its 'Boost IQ' function lets it automatically increase its suction power on carpeted floors, which is helpful if you don't want to constantly monitor your robot vacuum to manually adjust its settings. It has many parts that need periodic cleaning too.
The eufy G20 is bad for dealing with pet hair. Pet hair tends to get tangled in its brushroll and side brush rather than being sucked into its dirt compartment, so you'll need to clean it frequently to maintain peak cleaning performance. It also does a terrible job of sealing in fine particles and lacks a HEPA filter, so it isn't a good option if you're sensitive to allergens. Since this variant also lacks a mopping attachment, it's virtually incapable of clearing dried-on stains. It's very quiet for a vacuum, so it isn't as disruptive for your pets.

The eufy G20 is available in two variants; the basic G20 and the G20 Hybrid, which features a built-in water tank and mopping attachment that allows it to clean sticky messes. We tested the basic G20, and you can see the label for our test unit here. While the vacuums share the same suction motor and are otherwise similar in design, the G20 Hybrid's mopping function makes it a better option for dealing with stains.

The eufy G20 is a basic robot vacuum. It improves on the older eufy RoboVac G30 in terms of performance on bare floors and carpets. It still has substantially less advanced automation capabilities than alternatives that aren't much pricier, like the LIDAR-equipped Wyze Robot Vacuum which can generate a permanent map of its coverage area, letting you set up virtual boundary lines or direct it to clean a specific room in your house. The eufy does offer relatively strong suction performance and can clear debris from tight crevices a little more easily than other budget-friendly robot vacuums.
If you're looking for alternatives, take a look at our recommendations for the best budget robot vacuums, the best robot vacuums for hardwood floors, and the best robot vacuums.
The eufy RoboVac G20 is better than the eufy RoboVac G30, though the vacuums are similar in design. Still, the G20 has a longer maximum battery life and delivers better overall performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. However, the G30 does charge a little faster and comes with a set of magnetic boundary strips in the box.
The Wyze Robot Vacuum is better than the eufy RoboVac G20. The Wyze has a more advanced LIDAR mapping system that enables it to store a permanent map of its coverage area, meaning you can use its companion app to schedule cleaning sessions for specific rooms or set up virtual boundary lines. The Wyze also feels better built, has fewer parts that need periodic cleaning, incurs lower recurring costs, does a better job of dealing with pet hair, is more maneuverable, and is more effective in sealing in fine particles. Conversely, the eufy has a slightly larger dustbin and weighs less.
The eufy RoboVac G20 is slightly better than the eufy RoboVac 25C. While the vacuums are very similar in design, maintenance requirements, and cleaning performance, the G20 has a smart-pathing navigation system, resulting in better overall maneuverability. It also uses a different filter system that's easier to clean. However, the 25C comes with a remote control that lets you use it without an internet connection.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is better than the eufy RoboVac G20, even though the vacuum share somewhat similar physical characteristics. The X8 feels better built, has a longer battery life, charges faster, and performs better across all surface types. It also has a more sophisticated mapping system that lets it store a permanent map of its coverage area, enabling you to set up virtual boundary lines or specific cleaning zones.
The eufy RoboVac G20 is better than the eufy RoboVac 11S. The G20 has a longer maximum battery life and delivers notably better performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. Conversely, the 11S does a little better on low-pile carpet and has a larger dustbin.
The Roborock E4 is better than the eufy RoboVac G20. The Roborock feels better-built, does a better job of filtering out allergens, has a larger dirt compartment that won't need emptying as often, and has a longer maximum battery life while taking less time to recharge. The Roborock also does a better job of maneuvering itself and clears slightly more debris on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpets. However, the eufy is a little more compact.
This vacuum feels decently well-built. It's very similar in design to the older eufy RoboVac G30, with a body made almost entirely from plastic and a glass top cover, which gives the vacuum a slightly more premium appearance. It feels sturdy for the most part, though the glass top cover is somewhat fragile. The vacuum itself also isn't particularly hard to assemble.
The eufy G20 has many parts that need periodic cleaning, though they're fairly easy to access.
The eufy G20 incurs moderately high recurring costs.
A replacement parts kit, available on eufy's Amazon store page, contains:
This vacuum is remarkably easy to store. Its compact size, combined with its charging dock's low-profile design, makes it easy to set up in small nooks between shelves or furniture.
The eufy G20's range is limited only by the room left in its dirt compartment and remaining battery life. That said, it can't climb or descend stairs.
The eufy G20 is very portable. It weighs roughly the same as the fairly lightweight eufy RoboVac G30, making it easy to carry to another room.
The eufy G20 delivers excellent battery performance. In its most powerful 'Max' suction mode, it can run for almost 50 minutes, which is slightly less than the minimum 70-minute runtime of the older eufy RoboVac G30. If you run it in its most energy-efficient 'Quiet' suction power mode, you can expect over two hours of cleaning time, which is longer than the older model.
The indicator light allows you to monitor the current battery status, but only at certain states. When the light turns from solid blue to solid orange, the battery is low in charge. Make sure that the side brush is out of the way when the vacuum is on its dock, as the brush can cover the charging pin and cause the vacuum to report incorrect battery status info to the companion app.
The eufy G20 has a couple of quality-of-life features. There are four suction power modes, which you can choose on its companion app: the energy-efficient 'Quiet' mode, 'Standard', which is the default mode, 'Turbo', intended for more stubborn debris, and 'Max', which is for vacuuming high-pile carpeting. Its 'Boost IQ' function automatically allows it to switch power modes depending on the detected surface type. There's also a dedicated 'Spot Cleaning' mode that forces the vacuum to intensely clean a small, localized area.
The eufy G20 doesn't have many tools. It's fitted with one side brush that pushes debris on the edges of the vacuum's cleaning path into the way of its main brushroll. There's also a cleaning tool with a hook blade in the box, which the manufacturer advertises to help remove stuck-on debris from the dustbin, brushroll, and side brush.
The eufy G20 delivers fantastic performance on bare floors. It easily cleans small material like rice and bulky debris like cereal on this surface type in its default 'Standard' mode.
The eufy G20 performs poorly on low-pile carpet. It has a hard time dealing with large debris like sand and struggles with finer material like baking soda on this surface type, even with its 'BoostIQ' feature turned on.
The eufy G20 performs adequately on high-pile carpet. While it struggles with cleaning fine debris like baking soda on this surface type, it does a decent job dealing with larger material like sand, even in its default suction power mode with the 'Boost IQ' function enabled.
The eufy G20 delivers mediocre pet hair cleaning performance. While it can pick up a fair amount of hair, most of it tends to get stuck in its brushroll rather than sucked into its dirt compartment. If you have a pet, you'll need to clean this vacuum's brushroll frequently.
The eufy G20's real-world suction performance isn't especially strong compared to most conventional manually-operated vacuums. However, it still exerts a greater suction force than other robot vacuums, like the Shark IQ Robot. Like most robot vacuums, its suction inlet is positioned too high above the contact surface to generate a tight seal on bare surfaces, though the rubber strip on the brush guard does ensure a tighter seal against high-pile carpets.
The eufy G20 is remarkably quiet. You'll hear what people nearby are saying even when the vacuum is running in its most powerful suction mode.
This vacuum has okay maneuverability. It does use smart pathing to plot its route throughout a room, and it cleans in organized, methodical patterns. It's also small enough to clean under couches and tables. It struggles to climb onto high-pile carpets, and its floorhead can get caught on rug tassels. It also has a hard time climbing over electrical cords and can drag them around.
The eufy G20 does a bad job of sealing in fine particulates. It lacks an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, so it isn't a good option if you suffer from allergies. Consider the iRobot Roomba i1 if you want a robot vacuum with better air filtration performance.
The eufy G20 has a passable range of automation features. It uses smart-pathing to plot out its cleaning route, and its surface detection system does allow it to automatically change its suction power mode depending on the floor type that it's on. However, there are few manual control buttons, and there's no dedicated physical button to send it back to its cleaning station. It's compatible with magnetic boundary strips to keep it out of certain areas. Unlike the eufy RoboVac G30, no magnetic strips are in the box, so you need to purchase them separately.
The eufy G20 has a decently comprehensive companion app. You can schedule cleaning sessions in advance, check the estimated replacement intervals for certain parts, or change its suction and cleaning modes. However, since this vacuum doesn't generate a permanent map of its coverage area, you can't set up virtual boundary lines or direct it to a specific room in your home.
