The eufy G30 is a decent option for bare floors. It easily sucks up small debris but struggles quite a bit when dealing with pet hair and bulky material. It comes with a set of boundary strips that you can use to prevent it from entering certain areas, and you can use it without an internet connection. It also feels decently well-built. Unfortunately, it has quite a few parts that require regular maintenance or replacement, so recurring costs are high.

It does a poor job of picking up pet hair on all kinds of surfaces and doesn't have a HEPA filter, so it isn't the best option if you suffer from serious allergies. It also has many parts that need regular cleaning and incurs high recurring costs, though it does feel decently well-made overall.

Compared To Other Robot Vacuums
The eufy G30 is a basic robot vacuum. It has excellent battery life, comes with a set of physical boundary strips, and has a decently long battery life. However, its cleaning performance is poor on carpets, and it struggles with bulky debris and pet hair on bare floors. It also incurs high recurring costs and has many parts that need regular cleaning. Thankfully, you can use it without an internet connection, similar to other vacuums in eufy's lineup like the eufy RoboVac 30C.

The eufy RoboVac 15C and eufy RoboVac G30 perform quite similarly overall, though they each have their own slight advantages. The G30 has less demanding maintenance requirements and comes with boundary markers to keep the vacuum out of certain areas. It also struggles less with bulky material like cereal. Conversely, the 15C performs better on low and high-pile carpet and has a larger dirt compartment that doesn't need to be emptied as often.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is better than the eufy RoboVac G30. The X8 is better-built, lasts much longer on a charge, and delivers superior performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. Conversely, the G30 is a little bit lighter.
The eufy RoboVac G30 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The G30 is easier to maintain, delivers better performance on all surface types, and uses a smart-pathing navigational system. On the other hand, the 30C has a larger dirt compartment that doesn't need to be emptied as often.
The eufy RoboVac G20 is better than the eufy RoboVac G30, though the vacuums are similar in design. Still, the G20 has a longer maximum battery life and delivers better overall performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. However, the G30 does charge a little faster and comes with a set of magnetic boundary strips in the box.
The Roborock E4 is a superior choice to the eufy RoboVac G30 in most ways. The Roborock is better-built, has a larger dirt compartment, lasts much longer off of a single charge, and maneuvers far more efficiently. It also cleans more debris on all surface types. That said, the eufy is a little smaller and lighter and comes with boundary strips to prevent the vacuum from cleaning certain areas.
The eufy RoboVac 11S is slightly better than the eufy RoboVac G30, though they're fairly evenly matched overall. The 11S has a larger dirt compartment and superior cleaning performance on all surface types, especially on carpeted floors. That said, the G30 Edge has a companion app, a more efficient smart-pathing navigation feature, and comes with boundary strips, so you can prevent the vacuum from entering certain rooms. It's also a little easier to maintain.
The Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI is better than the eufy RoboVac G30. The Ecovacs is notably better-built, incurs fewer recurring costs, has a much longer maximum battery life, comes with a mopping attachment for bare floors, and clears more debris on all floor types. It has a more advanced LIDAR mapping system too, yielding superior maneuverability and more sophisticated automation capabilities.
The iRobot Roomba 675 is better than the eufy RoboVac G30. The iRobot feels better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges much faster while offering similar battery life, and delivers slightly better performance on bare floors and low-pile carpet. Conversely, the eufy comes with a set of physical boundary strips that keep it out of certain areas and clears a little more debris on high-pile carpet.
The Roborock S5 is a far more versatile robot vacuum than the eufy RoboVac G30. The Roborock is better-built, has superior battery performance, and cleans more effectively on all surface types. It also has a mopping attachment to clean sticky messes on bare floors, though we don't currently test for that. Meanwhile, the eufy is a little bit smaller and lighter.

The Shark IQ Robot is a better overall robot vacuum than the eufy RoboVac G30. The yeedi also has a broader range of automation features, most notably its self-emptying feature. Meanwhile, the eufy is a little easier to store and incurs lower recurring costs.

The 25C charges faster while offering similar battery life, delivers better performance on bare floors, and clears slightly more debris low and high-pile carpet. However, the G30 uses smart-pathing to navigate, resulting in superior maneuverability, and comes with a set of magnetic strips that you can use to prevent the vacuum from entering certain spaces.
The iRobot Roomba i7 is better than the eufy RoboVac G30. The iRobot is better-built, charges much faster, maneuvers itself more effectively, and performs better on all surface types. It also has an even wider range of automation features, most prominently its self-emptying function, which allows it to dump any accumulated debris into an external dustbin mounted to its charging dock. Meanwhile, the eufy is smaller and incurs fewer recurring costs.
Test Results
Build quality is decent. It's mostly made of hard, dense plastic, though its bumper and wheels are rubber. The top plastic surface of the vacuum has a glossy finish and features three control buttons. It feels quite sturdy overall, though its dustbin is a little flimsy. You may want to consider the eufy RoboVac X8 if you're looking for a better-built vacuum from the same manufacturer.
Out-of-the-box setup is quite simple, as all you have to do is fit the side brushes into place and plug in the dock station.
This vacuum has many parts that need periodic cleaning, though they're fairly easy to access.
- Dustbin: Removing the dustbin is a fairly effortless process, requiring only that you press the release switch. However, since it opens from the top, you need to be careful to prevent debris from spilling out the top when taking it out. You should empty it after each cleaning session.
- Brush guard: You can remove the brush guard by pressing the release tabs and pulling it out. It tends to collect a lot of pet hair. You should clear it of stuck-on debris once a month.
- Brushroll: You can access this part by flipping the vacuum over, removing the brush guard, and pulling the brushroll free of its housing. As per the manufacturer, it should be cleaned once a week with the provided cleaning tool. Unfortunately, its tightly-spaced bristles are extremely tangle prone, and you'll need to clean it after almost every cleaning session if you have a heavily-shedding pet.
- Filter: The filter is located in the dust bin lid, and you can simply lift it out of its housing. It should be cleaned once or twice a week depending on whether or not you have a pet by tapping it against a garbage bin to dislodge stuck-on debris.
- Side brush: Unlike a lot of other vacuum's side brushes that are held in place with a screw, the single side brush can simply be pulled out of its socket. You should clean it once a month by hand or with a damp cloth.
- Swivel wheel: The swivel wheel can be removed from its socket. It should be cleared of stuck-on debris or tangled hair once a month
- Sensors: You should clean the sensors of any stuck-on dust or dirt with a clean cloth or cleaning brush.
This vacuum incurs moderately high recurring costs.
- Filter: The filter should be replaced every two months. You can purchase a two-pack of filters here.
- Side brush: The side brush should be replaced every three to six months. You can find a four-pack here.
- Brushroll: The brushroll has an estimated service life of six to 12 months. While the replacement part is listed on eufy's Amazon store page, as seen here, it isn't currently available for purchase.
- Brush guard: The brush guard should be replaced every three to six months, or whenever you notice visible wear and tear. While the replacement part is listed on eufy's Amazon store page, as seen here, it also isn't currently available for purchase.
This vacuum is remarkably easy to store. It has a compact body and a low-profile charging station with room for excess power cord length.
This vacuum has a small dirt compartment. It falls some way short of the advertised claim of 0.6L and doesn't have a max fill line indicator to let you know how full it is.

The Edge variant of this vacuum comes with all of these components, along with:

Range is virtually unlimited, as long as it has room left in its dirt compartment and sufficient battery life. That said, it can't climb or descend stairs.
This vacuum is very portable. It doesn't weigh too much, making it fairly easy to carry to another room despite its lack of a carrying handle.
This vacuum delivers excellent battery performance. In its most powerful 'MAX' suction mode, it still yields more than 70 minutes of continuous runtime. If you run it in its default 'Standard' suction power mode, you can expect almost two hours of cleaning time.
The indicator light allows you to monitor the current battery status with a glance. When positioned on its dock, it changes from solid orange to solid blue once it's fully charged, which takes roughly four hours. If you want something that recharges more quickly, look at the iRobot Roomba 614. In normal operation, the light changes from solid blue to flashing blue to signal that it's returning to its charging dock. A flashing red light indicates that the vacuum has encountered an error.
This vacuum has a couple of quality-of-life features. There are four suction power modes, which you can choose between on the fly: 'Standard', which is the default, 'Turbo', 'MAX', and 'BOOST IQ'. The latter mode allows the vacuum to switch automatically between the 'Standard' and 'Turbo' suction modes depending on the detected surface type. Two different cleaning modes affect how the appliance approaches the cleaning task. 'Auto Cleaning' is the default mode, while 'Spot Cleaning' intensely cleans a small, localized area.
This vacuum doesn't have many tools. It's fitted with one side brush that pushes debris on the edges of the vacuum's cleaning path into the way of its main brushroll. A replacement side brush is included in the box, along with a cleaning tool with a hook blade to help remove stuck-on debris from these parts.
This vacuum delivers superb performance on bare floors in its 'Max' setting. It clears small debris like rice as well as bulky material like cereal without too much trouble.
This vacuum's performance on low-pile carpet is poor in its 'Max' suction mode. It struggles with fine debris like baking soda and larger debris like sand.
This vacuum has bad performance on high-pile carpet, even in its 'Max' suction mode. It has a hard time sucking up larger debris like sand or finer material like baking soda.
Pet hair pickup performance is poor. This vacuum struggles with clearing away pet hair on bare floors and carpets. To make matters worse, its brushroll is very tangle prone.
Real-world suction performance isn't especially strong compared to most conventional manually-operated vacuums, with the eufy G30's suction inlet positioned too high above the ground to generate a tight seal on bare surfaces. However, it's reasonably potent for a robot vacuum in this price range, though this does little to improve its deep-cleaning performance on carpets and in cracks and crevices.
This vacuum makes remarkably little noise while running. You'll hear what people nearby are saying even when the vacuum is in its most powerful 'MAX' suction mode.
This vacuum is reasonably effective when it comes to maneuvering itself. In its 'Auto-Cleaning' mode, it maps out the room before it starts cleaning it. While it does use smart-pathing to plot a route, obstructions like tables and chairs can throw it off its organized cleaning pattern and cause it to veer in unexpected directions. It also struggles to climb onto high-pile rugs, and tassels and electrical cords get stuck underneath it. Thankfully, it's small enough to easily navigate under tables and couches.
This vacuum does a terrible job of sealing in fine particles. Airflow seems to bypass any post-motor filtration, resulting in allergens escaping from small panel gaps.
This vacuum does a poor job of cleaning cracks compared to manually-operated vacuums due to its low real-world suction force. However, its performance in this regard is pretty unremarkable for a robot vacuum. It can clean very shallow crevices, like grout lines on a tile floor, but struggles with anything deeper than that.
Most variants of this vacuum, including the Edge model we tested, have no stain-clearing capability. You'll want to step up to the pricier G30 Hybrid, which has a mop cloth to pick up stains.
Most variants of this vacuum, including the Edge model we tested, can't be used to clear liquid spills. That said, the G30 Hybrid can clear away very small amounts of water using absorbent mopping cloths, though it isn't designed to suck up spills.
This vacuum has a decently broad suite of physical automation features. The Edge and Verge models come with physical boundary strips that you can use to keep the vacuum from entering certain areas, unlike the eufy RoboVac 15C. While you miss out on a couple of options without its companion app, the vacuum can function without an internet connection.
With the EufyHome companion app, you can schedule cleaning times, check cleaning session history, change suction power and cleaning modes, and even remotely pilot it with directional buttons. Unfortunately, it doesn't support virtual boundary lines.
