The eufy RoboVac 30C is a poor-performing robot vacuum. It doesn't perform well on any type of surface, except it cleans up most small debris like rice on bare floors. It lacks a smart pathing feature so the vacuum follows a random pattern and can easily clean the same area twice, but it's still efficient at cleaning an entire room. It has an excellent battery life, a decently-sized dirt compartment, and the EufyHome app offers great automation features. Sadly, it's difficult to maintain this vacuum as there are a lot of parts that need frequent cleaning, including the brushroll, side brushes, wheels, and filters. Even if you maintain those parts well, you still need to buy replacement parts every few months.
Our Verdict
The eufy RoboVac 30C is mediocre to use on bare floors. It sucks up most small debris like rice but it doesn't clean large debris like cereal as much, and it's only decent at cleaning hair. It has a decent dirt compartment but the vacuum is difficult to maintain and there are several parts that need frequent replacing.

There are several parts that you need to clean often and eventually you need to buy replacements for those parts too. However, the dirt compartment is a decent size for a robot vacuum.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants
We tested the eufy RoboVac 30C, which is only available in black, but there are a few different variants with some different features, which are listed below. The entry-level RoboVac 30 model does without any in-app automation, while the top-trim RoboVac 30C MAX uses a more powerful suction motor to improve deep-cleaning performance.

Compared To Other Robot Vacuums
The eufy RoboVac 30C isn't a good vacuum compared to other robot vacuums because it doesn't perform well on most surface types. However, it has a bigger dirt compartment than some others, such as the iRobot Roomba 675. The eufy RoboVac G30 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The G30 is easier to maintain, delivers better performance on all surface types, and uses a smart-pathing navigational system. On the other hand, the 30C has a larger dirt compartment that doesn't need to be emptied as often.
The eufy RoboVac 30C is a slight improvement on the eufy RoboVac 25C, though both vacuums are somewhat similar in overall design. The 30C is compatible with magnetic boundary strips to prevent it from entering certain areas and has a marginally more powerful suction motor.
The eufy RoboVac 11S is much better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. Both vacuums have a similar build, they each require the same maintenance needs, and their dirt compartments are the same. However, the 11S performs better overall and it does a much better job cleaning carpets.
The eufy RoboVac 15C and eufy RoboVac 30C are pretty similar robot vacuums, featuring the same battery, motor, and overall design. There's only one notable difference: the 30C comes with a set of magnetic boundary strips that can be laid out to prevent the vacuum from crossing certain boundaries.
The Roborock S4 is much better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. It performs much better on bare floors and low-pile carpet but it doesn't work on high-pile carpet. Instead, the eufy works on high-pile carpet but it doesn't clean much on it. The Roborock also has more automation features, a better build quality, and a better battery.
The Samsung POWERbot R7040 is a better robot vacuum than the eufy RoboVac 30C. It performs better on any type of floor and it has a smart pathing feature while the eufy doesn't have one. The Samsung is also easier to maintain and it has virtually no recurring costs. However, the eufy has a better battery and the dirt compartment is bigger.
The Neato Botvac D7 is a better overall performing robot vacuum than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The Neato does a better job of cleaning all debris and hair across different surface types, it's easier to maintain, and it has a better build quality. It also has a better performing battery. However, the eufy is slightly lighter.
The iRobot Roomba 675 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The iRobot has a better battery life, build quality, and it has better performance on bare floors and carpets. The eufy has two side brushes, while the iRobot has one, but they need to be replaced every three to six months.
The Roborock S5 is much better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The Roborock cleans much more debris on any type of floor and it has a smart pathing feature that helps it clean a room. It also has a better build quality and it has a better battery.
The iRobot Roomba E5 is much better overall than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The iRobot performs better on any type of surface, especially carpet, as the eufy doesn't clean much on carpet. The iRobot is also better built and it has longer battery life. The eufy has a bigger dirt compartment and its companion app offers more features, such as boundary markers.
The Roborock E4 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The Roborock feels sturdier, incurs fewer recurring costs, has a larger dustbin, maneuvers itself more efficiently thanks to its smart-pathing navigational system, and delivers superior performance on all surface types. It also has a longer maximum runtime, though this can vary in the real world. Conversely, the eufy is a little smaller and a little lighter.
The ILIFE A4s is a better robot vacuum than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The ILIFE has fewer recurring costs and offers better overall performance across all surface types. However, the eufy has better automation features as it comes with an app.
The Shark ION Robot AV753 Series is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The Shark feels better built, has a longer battery life, and performs better on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. Meanwhile, the eufy does come with a remote control that allows you to use it without an internet connection.
The iRobot Roomba i3 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The iRobot feels better-built, has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, charges much faster, does a better job of maneuvering itself, and delivers better performance on all surface types. It also has far more sophisticated automation features, most notably its self-emptying function that allows it to dump debris from its internal dustbin into an external dirt compartment on its charging dock, reducing hands-on maintenance requirements. However, the eufy incurs lower recurring costs.
The iRobot Roomba 694 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The iRobot feels better-built, has a longer battery life, recharges much faster, maneuvers itself more effectively, and delivers superior performance on bare and carpeted floors. However, unlike the iRobot, the eufy has physical boundary strips to keep it out of certain areas, though the 690 variant of the iRobot does come with a virtual boundary device.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is better than the eufy RoboVac 30C. The X8 is better-built, easier to maintain, incurs lower recurring costs, lasts longer on a charge, and performs significantly better on all surface types. It also has more advanced automation capabilities. Meanwhile, the 30C is lighter and has a bigger internal dustbin.
Test Results
The 30C has a decent build quality. It's made out of a hard plastic that's glossy on top and has a matte finish underneath, but it doesn't have a premium feel to it. The dust bin is made out of transparent blue plastic so you can still see through it, but it feels like it could break if dropped, and it's a bit difficult to put back into place. There's a quick on/off button on top of the vacuum to start cleaning and the power button switch is located underneath the vacuum to completely power it off. The vacuum is easy to put together as you don't need any tools to lock the two side brushes into place. If you want a better-built robot vacuum, check out the iRobot Roomba E5.
The 30C is hard to maintain as there a lot of parts that need maintenance, but each part is easy to access. The following are the parts that need maintenance.
- Dirt compartment: It needs frequent emptying, about once daily, and it can be washed with water.
- Brushroll: It can taken out by removing the brushroll guard first. The vacuum comes with a brushroll cleaning tool, and you need to clean the brushroll once a week.
- Filters: There are two filters and a pre-filter in the dirt compartment. They're accessed by removing the dirt compartment and each need to be cleaned once a week, and both the pre-filter the black foam filter can be cleaned with water, while the white high-performance filter can't.
- Side brush: There are two side brushes that lock into place and are easy to pull off to remove any hairs or clean them with water. They need to be cleaned about once a month.
- Wheels: The wheels can easily be removed and cleaned with water. You should clean them about once a month.
- Sensors: The sensors on the vacuum should be cleaned once a month with the cloth that comes with it.
If you wash any part with water, they must be air-dried before using them again. Consider the eufy RoboVac G30 if you want a robot vacuum that's a little easier to maintain.
There are quite a few recurring costs associated with the 30C, and all parts can be purchased on eufy.com, which redirects you to eufy's store on Amazon. The filter comes in two parts: the white high-performance filter and the black foam filter. The vacuum comes with two sets of filters, but they need to be replaced every two months and they're sold in packs of six.
The side brushes and the brush guard both need to be replaced every three to six months, or when they're visibly worn. The brushroll should be replaced every 6-12 months. Any other parts that break or get lost can be purchased through eufy's store on Amazon. If you want a budget-friendly robot vacuum with fewer recurring costs, take a look at the Eureka Groove.
The 30C doesn't take up a lot of storage space. It lays on the ground and it mounts to the charging dock by itself. You need to make sure wires around the dock are tied with the zip ties that come with it, or else the vacuum sucks them up.

The dirt compartment isn't a bad size for a robot vacuum. It needs frequent emptying and even though there's no indicator telling you when to empty it, it's fairly easy to see how full it is.

The vacuum has an unlimited range as long as it still has battery life left, but it isn't able to go up stairs.
Great portability. The 30C isn't very big and it's fairly easy to carry if you need to bring it to another floor.
The RoboVac has excellent battery life. On the most powerful mode, the 'Maximum Power' setting, it lasts over an hour, and on the least powerful mode, the 'Standard Power' setting, it lasts just under two hours. Just before the vacuum completely runs out of battery, it searches for the dock station, but it still can spot clean for two minutes. If you want a robot vacuum with even better battery life, check out the Roborock S4.
The battery life indicator flashes different colors and patterns depending on the vacuum's status, such as if it's charging, fully charged, or on low battery life.
The eufy 30C has three power settings with audible noises to notify you which one it's on: 'Standard Power' (one beep), 'BoostIQ' (two beeps), which is the default setting, and 'Maximum Power' (three beeps). It also has different cleaning methods, which you can control on the remote or through the app. The following are the different modes:
- Auto clean: It automatically chooses the cleaning mode and path to optimize its performance.
- Spot cleaning: The vacuum cleans an area, turning in a spiral pattern, for two minutes.
- Edge cleaning: Near a wall, it reduces its speed to make sure it's cleaned properly, and it can stay in this mode for 20 minutes.
- Quick clean: The vacuum automatically cleans for 30 minutes and this is the most efficient mode in terms of times and performance.
The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C comes with only a handful of extra tools. There's one main brushroll and it has two side brushes that pick up debris and push it towards the brushroll.
There's no alternative configuration for this vacuum.
The 30C has mediocre performance on bare floors. It doesn't have trouble cleaning small debris like rice, but it struggles with large debris like cereal, though to a lesser degree than alternatives like the eufy RoboVac 15C. Cereal easily gets stuck underneath the vacuum and is dragged as the vacuum moves. It's decent at cleaning pet hair, but most hair gets stuck around the brushroll. You need to clean it with the dedicated cleaning tool, but even that isn't very effective at cleaning the brushroll. If you want a robot vacuum with much better performance on bare floors, check out the Roborock S4.
Poor performance on low-pile carpet. It struggles with any type of debris, but it's the most effective with hair. If you want something similar that performs much better on carpets, then check out the eufy RoboVac 11S.
The 30C has a bad performance on high-pile carpet, but this is expected for a robot vacuum. It doesn't really clean large debris like sand.
This vacuum has just okay maneuverability. Using the 'Quick Cleaning' mode, it's efficient at cleaning a room, but it loses track of areas it has already cleaned. It's small enough to go underneath couches and tables, but wires are a real challenge for this vacuum. If there's an electric wire laying around, the 30C easily gets stuck, so you have to move the wires on your own.
The 30C has great automation features. It comes with a remote and you don't need an Internet connection for it to connect to the vacuum. The EufyHome app offers the same features as the remote, and it works with Google Assistant and Alexa, but this isn't something we test for. During testing, the app only worked with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection, but your experience may vary.
The vacuum doesn't have a smart pathing feature. It follows a pattern, but could easily go over the same area twice. When it's done cleaning, it returns to the charging dock by itself. If you want a robot vacuum with smart pathing, look into the Samsung POWERbot R7040.
