The eufy X8 is great for bare floors. It easily cleans pet hair as well as small and bulky debris on this kind of surface. Its battery life is quite long, enabling it to clean fairly large areas without running out of charge. Using its companion app also grants you access to a wide array of automation capabilities. However, it isn't the best at maneuvering itself, as it frequently bumps into obstacles, including its charging dock.

It also has a hard time dealing with finer debris. Thankfully, it feels well-built and lasts for quite a while on a single charge. Unfortunately, it isn't the best at maneuvering itself, as it frequently bumps into obstacles and can sometimes get stuck on rug tassels. It also has a relatively small dirt compartment and quite a few components that need regular cleaning.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants
There are two variants of the eufy X8, with the pricier RoboVac X8 having a passive mopping system with an integrated water tank. Compared To Other Robot Vacuums
The eufy RoboVac X8 is a premium robot vacuum. It's positioned as the flagship in eufy's lineup of robot vacuums, above models like the eufy RoboVac G30 or eufy RoboVac 15C, as it offers more advanced automation capabilities, better performance on a wide range of surfaces, and superior battery life. That said, it doesn't maneuver itself quite as effectively as some alternatives, like the iRobot Roomba 981.

Test Results
The eufy X8 feels well-built. It's made of hard plastic with a glossy finish top cover, giving it a slightly more premium look but also easily retaining fingerprints. Its LIDAR sensor and control buttons are also on top of the vacuum. However, its internal dustbin feels as though it could crack if you were to drop it.
This vacuum is easy to set up out-of-the-box, requiring only that you pair it with its base station after the latter has been plugged in.
The eufy X8 is somewhat hard to maintain due to the high number of parts that require regular maintenance, though they're fairly easy to access.
- Dust bin: In order to remove the dustbin, you need to press its release button. You should empty it after each use. When necessary, you should rinse it with water for approximately one minute.
- Filter: The filter can be found in the dust bin lid. You should clean it once a week with the provided cleaning tool. You can also rinse it with water for approximately one minute.
- Brush guard: You can remove the brush guard by pressing the release tabs and pulling it out. You should clear any stuck-on debris once a month.
- Brushroll: You can access the brushroll by flipping the vacuum over, removing the brush guard, and pulling it from its housing. You should clean it once a week with the provided cleaning tool.
- Side brush: You need a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew the side brush from the vacuum. You should clean it once a month and rinse it with water for at least one minute whenever it's necessary.
- Swivel wheel: The swivel wheel can be simply pulled from its socket. You should clear it of stuck-on debris or hair wraps once a month.
- Sensors: You should clear the sensors of any stuck-on dust or dirt with a clean cloth or cleaning brush once a month.
Any part that you can rinse under water should be left to dry for at least 24 hours before putting it back into the vacuum.

The eufy X8's range is limited only by its remaining battery life and the room left in its dirt compartment.
The eufy X8 is quite portable. It's heavier than other models in eufy's lineup, like the eufy RoboVac 15C, but it still doesn't weigh that much and can be picked up and carried fairly easily despite lacking a carrying handle.
The eufy X8 offers outstanding battery performance. In its high-power 'Max' suction power mode, it supplies roughly 80 minutes of continuous runtime. In its more energy-efficient 'Eco' mode, it should run for approximately 200 minutes, which comfortably outlasts other eufy models like the eufy RoboVac G30. That said, it does take about four hours to recharge, which is quite long. The vacuum's indicator light makes it simple to check the current battery status at a glance, as it goes from solid blue to flashing blue once its battery level drops to the point where it needs to return to its dock. When charging, it changes from pulsing orange to solid blue. The light flashes red if it encounters an error.
The eufy X8 has a couple of quality-of-life features. There are four suction modes to adapt to different surface types. In ascending order of suction power, they are 'Pure', 'Power', 'Turbo', and 'Max'. You can enable its 'BoostIQ' feature through its companion app, which allows it to automatically change its suction power mode depending on the surface that it's on. You can also use its companion app to change its cleaning patterns and how it navigates. 'Auto' is the default mode, 'Room' causes the vacuum to clean a specific room in your home, 'Zone' is used to vacuum user-defined areas, and 'Spot' causes it to focus cleaning on a very small area.
The eufy X8 has a single side brush to help direct debris into the path of the primary brushroll. It also comes with a cleaning tool to help clear stuck-on debris or tangled hair.
